I survived the colonoscopy!

Hi!  Just wanted to give an update from my post the other day about being on liquids for 2 days prior to my scheduled colonoscopy.  I had the test this morning and everything went fine--results are good.  I found myself in a bit of a difficult situation as far as being on liquids for 2 days though.  Several of you thought I should contact my family doctor, which was very good advice--but day 1 of the 2 days was on a Sunday and day 2 was the day his office is closed.  So, I decided that I would continue with the instructions I received from the hospital and if I couldn't handle it, I would just call and cancel the test.  The worst thing that could happen would be that I would have to wait another 6-8 months to reschedule--yes, 6-8 months is a normal wait time here in Canada!  Well, I did survive the 2 days of liquids only.  I made sure I drank lots and spent most of the entire 48 hours in bed or doing very little.  The test itself was a breeze--don't remember a thing!  Thanks for your help and support!

Good to know...I'm glad you survived. I always think not eating will be the worst thing but if I have to. I guess I have to.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I'm so glad it worked out for you. I feel for you. My hubby had a colonoscopy a couple weeks ago and the prep was pretty horrible. And he didn't even have WLS. I'm glad you made it thru in one piece. Welcome back to real life.

I'm glad it's behind you. I bet it felt good to eat again. :)
