shocked at cottage cheese test

ok, so if any of you are familiar with my recent posts here, you've probably gathered how irritated and fed up i have been with myself lately.  i'll be a 3 year post op this august, and i've had a 13 pound re-gain.  that's too close to 20 for me.  anyway, convinced that i have ruined my tool because i can pretty much eat what i want, has put me so far out of the mindset of being determined to get this excess weight off.  recently i posted about weight w**chers, and i did join that, but i haven't been following any type of plan.  this morning, i decided to stop feeling guilty and sorry for myself, and face the music....if i ruined my tool, i have to suffer the consequences.  so, i finally did the cottage cheese test, and i am flabbergasted by the result.  i was expecting to be terribly disappointed, and instead, saw that left over in the measuring cup, i had 1/4 cup of water left.  i was thrilled to death, considering i was expecting to be able to fill that cup up twice. hopefully this is the re-affirmation that i needed.....my tool is still there, and ready to work for me, all i have to do is work with it.   has anyone else tried the cottage cheese test?  how did you make out?

When I did the cottage cheese test I rapidly ate 12 oz. of the stuff before stopping cause I was tired of it, but was not full or even satisfied. Come to find out my pouch had stretched out and my Stoma was wide open. I had a revision -- Lap over RNY last October to address the issue and have lost the 30 pounds I had put on since my original surgery in Sept. 2004.

What if you don't like cottage cheese ? I tried it a couple of times but it doesn't sit too well with me. I am also afraid of what I will find out. Sandy

Try scrambled eggs. I could eat over 8 oz of scrambled eggs plus a piece of toast. Not what I expected at 2 1/2 years out. Have really had to go back to protein first! Diona

I am sure others have suggested this ... But you might want to try the 5 day pouch test/ diet  to reset your pouch !!  it seems to help give you a kick start ..  Just google it .. Pretty easy to follow  good luck !!!
