My vitamins and a new product

I just posted the results of my 2 years lab work at the bottom of my long story on my profile page.  I wanted people to know the results of  taking my liquid vitamins for 7 months.  All very good results, only vitamin D was low normal range, which has been the only problem with every one of my labs over the past 2 years, even though I do daily walking in the sun, and have had 3 courses of prescription levels of vitamin D.   DAVE

Dave, Was the prescription D, an oil based capsule?  I've managed to bring my Vitamin D levels up with Dry D. Keep up the great work! Kathy

It was a green caplet, 50K IU per capsule, once per week for 12 weeks. I did this 3 times. Those levels normally came back with a score of about 14.  After taking the liquid vitamins my first labs had a 33 and my second labs had a score of 33. 30  to 100 is considered normal. I'm not aware if the caplet was oil based or what, but it did have some type of liquid inside. DAVE

It was probably an oil base since D is a fat soluable vitamin.  You might want to try a Dry D.  We absorb that better since the fat malabsorption doesn't play into it. My D was running in the 20s.  Nutritionists wanted it up over 40 now.  I'm in the high 40s/low 50s now and trying for a bit higher based on my reading/poking around.  I'd like it higher rather than lower. Your PTH, while in normal range, is a bit on the higher edge of things.  Could be the D factoring in. You might want to try to get the D up.  Look for Dry forms of D.  Twinlab has one.  I'm now using NSI brand.  They are very inexpensive to boot. Kathy
