Hi Folk, in the 70's I had a stomach stapeling, then had revision to RNY April 12, 2007. I've reached my goal which was to be off all meds and exercising everyday. All together including weight loss pre op I've lost over 130 pounds (stopped weighing my self when I reached 300). I work at the hospital where I had my surgery (Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo MI) Dr. Verseman is great. We really have a wonderful support groups in our hospital and working here, I have professionals at the tip of my figers!! I'm one not to weigh myself since I work out everyday and follow the doc's recommedations, very seldom do I go off track because this is not a diet, it's my new lifestyle. No need to hit me over the head if I "treat myself" once in awhile and that's what it is, a treat. No longer do I binge and I always reach for protein first. My finace brought a bicycle so he can ride with me so today after work since it's nice out, it's riding the bike instead of going to water aerobics. I'm down to a size 12 and some 10's and I feel great. This is a lifetime challenge and I know I will always have to watch what I put in my mouth but when I eat denser foods and always reach for protien first it all falls into place. May your journey continue at your own pace, never compare your weight loss with others...it's not a race!
