Hi, This is the first time I have posted to these boards. My 2 year anniversary was May 9th. I have done well, down about 103 pounds. I have had my tummy tuck (9/07) and breast lift (2/08) which has made me feel great! Two things that I have noticed recently and was wondering if anyone else has had are gas issuses, both passing it and finding that it is trapped with no place to go! and low blood sugar issues. The low blood sugar issues are fairly recent, and I notice that if I don't get some kind of protein in and only carbs it is worse. I skated along fairly well until a few months ago when the blood sugar started to drop, I felt crappy at work one night and had someone do a blood sugar on me....it was 52! Yikes! I knew it was low but not that low. I plan on talking to my surgeon on Wednesday about this. I think because of my tummy tuck, I feel the gas/bloating even more as well. Anyway, I plan on reading through this board a little more for some advice from people who have been there, done that! Thanks. Amy

Hey, we have the same anniversary date!  I am pleased also, having the same results that you have also.  I have not had PS, but am thinking about it.  About the gas and sugar issues, I have them as well.  I think it is largely related to what I eat.  I have found Devrom very effective for gas odors.  They can be very embarrassing!  I will be following your post to see other responses.

I also have the issue of the gas getting trapped and not moving, it is painful. One night I drank hot tea and sat with hot packs, that seemed to help alittle.

I'm not quite as far along as you - I'll be 2 years on August 14. But I also have the low sugar issues. I have to eat several times throughout the day, especially before doing any kind of exercise, or I'll crash. Once it starts dropping, it drops really fast. I don't go anywhere without some peanut butter on wheat bread or something like that.

That is what happens with me as well, when it drops....it drops. It comes on so fast, it's scarey. We'll see what the doctor says on Wednesday, I am also carrying around something to eat in a pinch as well. I didn't have the low sugar issues until a few months ago, but as time goes on they seem to be happening with more frequency. Amy

Happy Anniversary!!!!  I have the same issues at times~the gas thing is such a pain. I find that bad carbs bring it on alot worse, but if I stick with higher protein I do better througout the day. For low blood sugar I instantly reach for cottage cheese~I can get it down quickly and its packed with protein. I hate that shakey, clammy feeling! Wishing you continued success!!!!!!!!!

Your right about the carbs, I know that has something to do with the low blood sugars.

Hi Ladies- I will be 2 years out on June 1st.  I have had tremendous issues with pain, gas and terrible gas odors.  I first cut out fiber(all veggies too) then dairy.  I was still having problems!  Then...I cut out all articficial sweetners(equal, splenda etc..) Everything has artificial sweeteners. No diet pop or sugarless gum etc..  Guess what??? It worked and I am feeling great.  I was a spenda freak.  It takes time to do without but, well worth it!! Hope this helps, Hugs, Romey
