Is this common or am I special?

well you are always considered special. Don't let any one tell you different. But, what kind of meltdown are you talking about? Depression, anxiety, ? Sometimes with labs beng out or thyroid we can be more irritable....

I will do labs again soon.  About four months since my last excellent labs.  I cry, feel horrible, can't focus.  It is so foreign to me and my personality.  I am the problem solver for the entire world and choosing what shoes to wear now reduces me to tears.

if nothing has changed in your life, then it is most probable due to labs. Wish I could know what one it is.....I know thyroid (hypo) can cause these. Are you sleepy too? Skin dry? Perhaps vitalady can add to this or some of the others. hugs to you.....my dear.

I went through a period like this and it ended up being hormone related.  I had to take a low dose of birth control along with testosterone for a few months to get back in balance.  Good luck. Melissa

Ummm, it might not be wls related.  I remember feeling like that in the beginning of the menopausal days.  Could this apply?

Jane, I to am feeling emotional, depressed, out of sorts.  I've been told by my OBGYN that she believes I am pre-menopausal......so if this is the culprit how do we "deal" with what we feel, any suggestions?

Depression is not uncommon for post ops. You've given up your best friend of many years--FOOD. And female hormones tend to "go crazy" as you lose weight. My surgeon always recommends 2 forms of birth control due to this hormonal situation.  If it gets too bad, don't be ashamed to speak to a professional about your situation. DAVE

I was thinking along the same lines~could be hormonal, pre menopausal, shift in labs, etc. Call and have some labs drawn b/c its no fun to feel that way!

Hey sweetie, is it something in the air?  I posted this to the Texas Message board this morning, I don't know what I'm feeling or why but I can sympathize with you. From TMB: Good Morning everyone!

I have a couple of questions for you and would love to get some insight on how you cope.

Life right now feels like a rollercoaster for me, emotions are running high and I feel so blah.  I feel myself slipping down a slope of emotions.  So, I thought who else but my TMB can I gleem some insight from.

Do you ever feel like you've taken on the world?  Want to yell, "there's a monkey on my back and I can't get it off"?  Do you ever want to just say, I need a break from reality, responsibility?

I'm a perfectionist by nature and have severe OCD........I need to learn how to let things go and NOT expect others to do as I do, that they have their own reasoning.  They don't get stressed if their plate if full and learn to prioritize.  If it get's done ok, if not there is tomorrow.  How do you take what you can manage and let the rest go without feeling like your going crazy?

I sitting here crying this morning, I don't know what to do, this is not me, I'm usually the strong one, the one that take care of everyone.  I need some insights from others, I don't like these feelings at all.  I need to get a grip, life could be worse right?

Sending hugs and blessing to you, don't give up, keep fighting.
