Dehydrated apples

I ordered some Ha's dried apples off of Bariatric Eating. They are really good.  I am a tight wad! And want to save them for as LONG as possible.  I got out my brand new food dehydrator (Ronco) that I bought on sale for $15 last Thanksgiving and tried to dry some.  They were great... but I soaked them for two minutes in lemon juice.  Does anyone know what else I can soak apples in so they don't have a tangy flavor?

I think it's the lemon juice that's used so that they dont' brown. I think cider vinegar might work just as well and dilute it with water.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Go to your grocery store and look in the canning aisle for a product called "fruit fresh".  It will keep your apples from turning brown and add no flavor.....If you like a little something extra in the flavor dept., try pineapple juice to soak you apples in. Andrea

Thank you both, ladies!  I knew someone would know the answer!  I love dried apples.
