Anita I am so happy for you that you levels have come up. So nicely over the last few months. I am on my last type of iron pills over here. That my surgeon put me on for three months. They are called repliva you take them for 21 days and off for seven. Seeing how we tried every type out there and none has work for me. Keeping my fingers cross if these do not work. I will be back for round three of a series of iron transfusion for the year. Sorry for not pm you lately. W ith my mom having to go to the rcc. and losing my grand father a few weeks ago . Life has not been to good over here. again I wish you the best of luck and that your levels stay up for you. Taichi

You need to stop apologizing! {{{Hugs}}}}  You have been thru soooooo much.  (Actually, I think I'm the one behind at answering your last PM)  I know you have a lot on your mind...I was so to hear about your grandfather. He knew he was loved...You were there all the time! That Repliva is the one that got me intrigued with taking TWO kinds of iron....I got my eyes on a list of the ingredients in Repliva and found the Amino Acid Chelate form of Iron (ferrochel) that I was taking (Not enough of obviously)  and both  the Ester C and Vitamin C as ascorbic acid...Rather than the Iron Fumarate in Repliva, I used the Carbonyl Iron instead.  I did try the Fumarate and again had some unwell feelings from it and went BACK to the carbonyl iron!  I liked the idea of chewing my iron supps for better absorption...I did chew the fumarate!  OH MY!!!!!!    Yuck!!!!!!!LOL What a crazy way to do things, huh?   I read good things about the Fumarate Iron too (Don't chew that nasty stuff..tastes like a mouthful of blood...so gross!) I hope mom does better! Take care of you too! You are always taking care of everyone but you!   Hugs

Dana! Can you believe that?  I'm still elated! I still gotta get it higher...But I'm on my way up! You better start taking it regularly!  LOL  I admit I didn't like the taste at first...It was an unfamiliar flavor and a slight metallic taste...but after a few times, I could taste the honey and they tasted sweeter and sweeter as time went on taking them.  They aren't chalky...More like a sweet tart without the tart...Chew with a sour asorbic Vit C and it's just like a mouthful of sweet tarts...I like them....The new formula I just got from Vitalady tastes different yet...Much softer and easier to chew, although I had gotten used to the old ones....I have taken the new ones for a few days and already like them much more...Tastes like honey too and a little lingering rusty flavor sometimes...Just drink water or eat a little bite of fruit like Michelle says to do and it's all gone!  No side effects at all if you ease into taking them.   With Iron though, your blood needs a steady supply (meaning TAKE THEM DAILY! :::wink:::)  in order to do what they do best!  Iron works best on a schedule ...so I read!   I could be wrong....but look what it did for me?  I was not expecting that! I was hoping...but I was prepared for worse!   Ya know, I really believe that by one thing being off balance....the rest of the system gets a little outta whack.  I'm trying not to over-do anything or forget something that might be affected by over or under- supplementing and causing more problems.  It's quite scary when you can't just ***** your finger like with diabetes and check your blood...So doing things slowly might be better for you...But Iron deficiency is not something you want to mess with!  Get that one taken care of!  Vitamin deficiencies are crazy insane! i cannot believe JUST how important they are!  Be caustious of the toxic vits! You had me worried to death reading about that B-6...I take a B complex weekly...and it's very high dosages...So I only take half now and started reading up on every single vitamin I take!  I might go become a pharmacist or holistic healer or witch doctor or something!  LOL  I hope you get it all figured out. I noticed I never had a B-6 test...My doc is soooo forgetful...She keeps forgetting my Dexa Scan too!  ****ep forgetting to remind her too)  Did you ever figure out if your calcium was good?
