Accountability...what did you eat Saturday?
I have found this series of posting so strengthening for me. I've struggled with being hungry all day, and hope I don't eat more since my calorie count is 1200 for today. Here's what I've eaten:
Yoplait free lowfat yogurt, South Beach cereal high protein bar
spinach/lettuce salad with mushrooms, tomatoe, chicken, no fat dressing
apple, toast w/ natural peanut butter
Health Choice asiago chicken mushroom frozen dinner
fudgsicle, Yoplait free lowfat yogurt
Do you use fit day or spark people to figure out your calories and protein?
When I was doing the accountabilty thread for Carla while she was gone, I compared other people's meal selection to what I eat and the only thing I couldn't eat that is on your list is probably the toast, although, I did have a single slice of whole wheat toast last week...I don't really do good with bread or pasta so I stay away from it. How is the sugar count on the Yoplait Free Low Fat? Sometimes they add sugar to low fat stuff cuz taking out the fat takes out some of the flavor so they add sugar to get people to like it (the human brain is so predictable...)
You're welcome to have the expert (Carla
) check out your list. She checks our lists all the time...AND she's a great cheerleader. Rah! I'm a rank amateur. My sister was a cheerleader but I could never fit into the skirt so I couldn't be one. LOL>

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I use fitday. Items that aren't on their list I have to add as a custom food - like the yogurt. Fitday has an area where you enter different values. For the yogurt, the one I grabbed from the frig to respond to your question, is called apple turnover. It also has 100 calories. Under Total Carbohydrate it lists 19 g, with Sugars 14g. Is this recommended? This yogurt has 5g protein too. What do you think?
The toast wasn't the best idea...a different choice would have helped keep carbs down.
Appreciate your feedback!
I do the Dannon Light and Fit, only the 4 oz size but the protein numbers on that are only 3. Less sugars too but if you can do those, you should be okay.
I usually just stay away from the low or non fat stuff because of the sugar levels. My general rule of thumb is whatever the serving size is in grams, I stay less than 10% of that in sugar. If there are 100 grams in the serving size and 20 grams of sugar...I'm pretty sure the sugars are going to hit me hard.
We all have our own ship to sail so however yours sails best for you...Stay on course and keep going.

It is great to hear a guideline to help judge if a food has more sugar than may be recommended. The Yoplait is 6 oz, and I thought it was a healthy product because it has Bob Greene's Best Life approval seal and the nutritionist with my surgeon approved it. I'll have to try Dannon's out. I have to be extremely careful with sugar alcohol as it always causes me to dump. Right now because I am trying to reframe my eating it is especially helpful to hear about other products. Another reason I'm glad we are posting what we're eating...gives me ideas of some food choices I would not necessarily think of myself. Thanks SO much for sharing - I appreciate it.
