Very normal from lots of post I've read.  I also went through a couple of weeks of lots of energy then about 3 months of being tired.  Remember you had major surgery and your body is in shock from all you've been through. Do talk to your doctor and let him know.......he may suggest something different to try.  Protein is important right now along with lots of water to stay hydrated. Congratulations on your surgery.

Lady, I can only tell you that seems to be par for the course and your normal energy levels will increase as your body adjusts.  The decrease in food (fuel) absorbption is probably the culprit here.  Keep up the vitamins religiously and remember lots of small meals throughout the day.  Exercise will be key in your recovery. Best of luck

I'm three years out and feel drained/exhausted a lot of the time. I go through stretches where I am sleeping almost 12 hours daily, and then things normalize. It's frustrating. I'd like to do more once I get home from work instead of being so idle.

Please check your lab work. Vit b12 may be off and thyroid may be hypoactive too. Other vits could be out of wack causing exhaustion. Don't let this go on without checking it. As for the original post, I agree, body is catching up after major surgery. Lots going on, and we bounce back quickly and forget that our body needs more time.

are you drinking any protein shakes-how's your balance? low protein =fatique, balance, carbohydrate cravings and insomnia just to name a few. i had the same problem and VTALADY suggested 5 protein shakes a day of 30gr each I just put 4oz water & protein in a glass and take my vitamins with it then just add a few in the afternoon. good luck vicki b
