That's probably true. I know before surgery I had terrible problems with diarrhea. I am happy that I can pretty much control the constipation thru diet and exercise though!

For a while I felt like I was giving birth every time I had a BM.  I started eating oranges and some berries.  I eat 2 oranges every day and I eat blue berries and cherries too.  They all help very much.  I am finally regular with no bleeding when I go.

I don't know if this will help, but I'm always looking for ways to keep my system going.  My nurse suggested the new Activia yogurt.  It has a patented culture that it supposed to help your digestive system.  When I follow the instructions and eat it every day for 2 weeks, it really works for me.  I often add some flax seed granola or other fiber rich cereal to my yogurt as a bed time snack.  It's lots of carbs at the end of the day, but I save up for these by not eating other carbs most of the day.  I like the idea of natural food solutions rather than laxatives too. Smooth move tea has a new orange flavor that is not bad too.  It will sometime loosen things up too much though.   It has Senna in it.
