Being Regular.....

I need wisdom again!  This weekend was the second time I have had to be in the hospital for um, well "back up" problems.  I have been told that I need to have a daily soften/laxative.  I will but don't like the idea of that forever.  WHAT are some foods that are low cal and keep a person regular(if such a thing)??? Thanks!

I have tried Benefiber with no success (obviously).  Glad you haven't had to go in for "back up" problems!  Keep doing what works for you!!! Thanks!

I use Benefiber every day, and on the days that 'nothing happens' I dump a dose of Miralax in my tea.

Try to add more beans!

I have a love affair with prunes (high in iron as well).  You have to get in enough fluids and fats to keep things moving.  By adding a good dose of Olive oil to what ever I can I have had zero problems.  Summer time and cherries always a dual purpose.

OOOO, thank you!  I like prunes and should just get back in the saddle with them!  Fluids I do great with.  Fats, I'm not sure.  I will try the olive oil trick too!  MMMMM, cherries!   THANKS! Sooo much helpful FOODS to use! HUGS!

I'm also a big advocate of Fiber One. I make a "colon blast" with it  -  I mix it with a few raisins, maybe crush up some bran flakes, and sometimes I put a few slivered almonds in there. When my weight's extra good, I'll put in a few chocolate chips. It can be fairly high in calories with the raisins, but it's very, very effective. I've also put some Fiber One cereal in some Fiber One yogurt. I also eat Fiber One bars every now and then, but they're on the sweet side and sometimes make me a little sick. I really should buy some stock in Fiber One.
