Hi all, Started day 4 today and am thrilled to say I dumped, slimed and felt big time puky last night     Reminded me about correct eating habits and the first few months post-op.  Even though I'm not showing any wt loss so far, the re-learning of those basic habits is fabulous.   Days 1 and 2 were the easiest for me - basically no big decisions.  Day 3 I should have planned better.  My 4 oz omlette last night caused the problem - mainly because I had that slight tightness at 3.5 oz and out of habit ate that last .5 oz.  Best mistake I've made in months !!!!  This a.m. I had 3.5 oz XXXlean gd beef.  Left some on my plate, as last night was a such fabulous lesson.  Also, I've been analyzing my past habits and choices, comparing them to these 5 days and I too had "slid into slider foods".  Not only slider foods, but liquids before, during and after meals, effectively  moving all of my choices into the slider group.  That combined with my recent grazing habits spelled disaster. My carb cravings seem to have disappeared though I will remain very guarded.  I'm so hopeful this will get me back on track to lose these last 20 pounds. Thanks to all of you a million times over for all the wonderful posting.  I lurk and learn absolutely every day.   Hugs

YEP!  I had the same results! I was so happy and have been able to keep on track for the last few months since I did the 5DPT...I have gotten a little away from it  (with protein supps high in sugar)and might do a quick refresher...But I started working out and find myself more and more hungry again!  I guess this whole WLS thing is a bit more challenging that I ever imagined...and yet..as scared of gaining as I am...I am beginning to realize that I am in control if I allow myself to be...And while I feel more hungry....I know that it means I need more protein for muscle and more complex carbs for energy and I will be okay...If I gain weight, I know where to cut back!  Hopefully I wont be hungry...because that is when I have a hard time staying on track!  I'm so glad you got so much out of the 5 DPT!  Some people don't and I personally can't say enough about it so it's exciting to see it working for others too. Stay guarded and don't let your head take over! Listen to that pouch now that you can feel it again! It does stay tight if you keep eating til satisfied! And only eat complex carbs with the others only being in moderation.  I wish you continued success!

Shar, I've done the pouch test 2 times already and will do it again starting Monday.....I am finding myself wanting more carbs again and don't want to allow myself to slide backwards.  We have a group of 8 or so from the Texas Message board doing it together. Glad you like it, I have really enjoyed the plan and know it will come in handy when I feel less control.
