3 year surgiversary

The only reason I know it's my surgiversary is I found a congratulations email from Eric this morning.   The past seven months have been a blur of activity, agnst, and joy.  My son got married.  My daughter moved to Vegas.  Two grandbabies.. one two months premature, one two weeks late.  My son deployed to Djibouti Africa with the NC National Guard for a year.  Flying back and forth between NY and LV and NC to see births and play Nanny Granny.  A real tough spot in my marriage.  Anti depressant failure and trying other prescriptions.  Blood pressure problems which need to be medicated again.  It's a wonder my brain hasn't exploded. What has happened is a 28 pound regain.  I earned every ounce.  Cookies, bread, pizza... comfort carb heaven. This morning's scale number has given me a slap in the face of reality and I'm jumping back on the wagon. I have my three year surgeon appointment May 7 and I need to talk to them.  I have yet to permanently change my eating habits and I hate exercise.  I need to go back to basics and get real. Congrats to those of you who have done better.  Welcome to my world to those of you who haven't.

What a year you've had! I think you deserve a pat on the back for only gaining 28 pounds. I had a similar year in 2005 - mother died of cancer, new grandbaby, two kids got married, I can't even remember what all happened. I gained about 100 pounds that year and had RNY the next year. I hope things calm down for you.

Happy Anniversary!!!! Wow, you have had ALOT of things going on in your life!!!! Don't be hard on yourself for the gain~I think with that kind of stress alot of us would gain. You have a plan~talking to your surgeon at your appt~that's the first BIG step needed! Good Luck and Congratulations on 2 new babies!!!! You don't look old enough to be a grandma!!!! I had 2 premature boys~one 7wks early and the other 6wks early~we had some tough times in the beginning, but now they are 11 and 7 yrs old, healthy and strong!!!!

Congratulations on your 3rd surgiversary! What a year you have had, but don't forget your successes too. You can get back to basics and back in control and lose that 28lbs. I am sure you will succeed.

All the best

Welcome back Linda! How small was your premie?  I had one, weighed in at a whopping 1 1/2 lbs.  Now he's 25, strong and healthy!  I hope all your grandbabies are doing well. You should try the 5DPT, it's a good way of getting back on track.  I may do it again next week, I'm a little out of control with the carbs these days. Michele

My son's daughter was born two months early at almost 32 weeks.  When he called us to say she was in labor at first I thought he was playing a joke.  I hopped in the car and  zipped down ten hours to North Carolina in time for the birth.  The child was in NICU for over six weeks.  Savannah Rose is now a healthy five months old and over 13 pounds. My daughter's baby is five weeks old and I am here in Las Vegas for a few more weeks so Dana Alexandra doesn't have to go into daycare until she's two months old. I've read the 5DPT and it doesn't interest me.  Instead I started eating meal replacements of Kashi Go Lean Cereal in which I've added raisins and sliced, raw almonds.  I also ate Activa yogurt for breakfast.  I felt wonderful when I woke up and the scale was down. I want to thank you and the others who wrote encourragiing words.  It's always so nice tpo know I'm not the only one who screws up.
