Good morning everyone! Well, today is the first day of the rest of my life.  My first time doing this 5 DPT.  Even though I can eat way more than the beginning, I'm able to feel restriction, my problem is I make poor food choices (sweet tooth) and lack of exercise, the consequence is 14 lbs weight gain!  So I' m hoping to drop a couple of pounds by Monday. I will definitely keep you guys posted.  Thanks for your support & wish me luck!!  Hugs & Blessings from Maggie P.S. Laura:  Let's be 5 DPT buddies!!

Good afternoon!  I also started the 5 DPT this morning so I guess we are buddies!! This is my first time using this as well. It sounds like we have a lot in common - poor food choices, only I also indulge in caffeinated, carbonated beverages as well :(  My lack of exercise lately has been due to restrictions from a tummy tuck that I just had done and the LLOOONNNGGGGG Northern Michigan winter that we have had.  I am able to walk briskly now and the last few days have seen 50-60's outside so I am making the most of that!!!  I am still under lifting restrictions and strength training is still out as well.  I go to see my surgeon in a couple of weeks and hopefully everything will be lifted. I am doing pretty good so far - not really feeling hungry but man, have I pee-ed a lot so far today!!! Guess that tells me I haven't been getting the right kind of fluid in each day - soda doesn't make you pee like this ;)  I have only put on about 5-7lbs since my TT but I am 17lbs above my lowest weight so I definitely need to kick it in to high gear.  Knowing someone else is doing this at the same time helps - Thanks!!  I will check in later tonight to see how things went for you. Hi Laura! We're gonna do great !  Let's keep each other encouraged & motivated.  Are you planning on weighing yourself everyday?  Every other day?  At the end of the 5 days? Here's what I've had so far today: Breakfast - Vanilla Protein Shake Lunch - Cream of chicken soup, s/f jello Afternoon  Snack - Cappuccino Protein Drink For dinner, I'll probably have beef broth & later on a chocolate protein shake.  I have to go get some s/f puddings as well.  I've had a slight headache on & off throughout the day, probably from carb withdrawal.  Have a blessed day and yes we CAN do all things through Christ ! Hugs from Maggie

Howdy!!  I started the 5 DPT today too!  I'm 15 months out and my losses have slowed dramatically until this month when I realized my 1st gain.  Gotta get a hold of things NOW before things get out of control.  With some self examination of my eating patterns I've decided that my issues are too many "slider" foods and too much grazing.  Also, when my pouch feels full, I just stop eating until the fullness passes and then I get myself a snack....Bad, bad habit that is becoming too routine for me.  I really need to relearn how to not eat just because I'm not feeling physically stuffed (does that make sense?)  I've been fortunate so far today, no withdrawal headaches, just a lot of head hunger.  Lets see if I can recall my intake for today so far: Bkfst: Coffee with 1/2 and 1/2 (my true addiction), Unjury shake made with soy milk Morning snack: Unjury shake made with soy milk Lunch: Strawberry Atkins canned shake Afternoon snack: Starbucks skinny latte with SF vanilla syrup 2nd afternoon snack: Vanilla SF/FF yogurt Dinner: Fage yogurt mixed w/cinnamon and equal,  chocolate SF/FF pudding Probably should have/could have done without the 2nd afternoon snack, but afternoons are historically my weakest grazing times and I couldn't decipher if I was head hungry or physically hungry!  This is a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I'm determined to stick it out and learn something from it.  Jump starting some more weight loss would be nice too! I'll be looking for your post tomorrow!!!!

Okay Maggie, sorry I got back online so late but I have 5 kids, nuff said!!  Here is what my day looked like: Breakfast: Protein shake, then 33.8oz water throughout morning, Lunch: Protein shake, then 33.8oz water again, Afternoon snack: SF jello, Early Dinner: Beef broth, then more water, Mid-evening: Protein shake (wasn't sure if head hunger or true hunger), more water, Evening snack: FF/SF chocolate pudding followed by more water.  Looking back, it is no wonder I felt as if I was on the toilet ALL day long...good thing I am a stay-home mom;) I did not get much exercise in today due to my hubby being out of town this week and no one to stay with the kiddos but I am proud of this......NO CAFFEINE/CARBONATION all day....that is SOOO huge for me right now. When I look back on what I drink all day long every day, it is soda, soda, soda (diet of course but still all that carbonation has got to be exploding my pouch!!) I really wanted an iced tea but I was afraid that would trigger soda cravings even worse.  I chewed a lot of GUM today and I think that helped with the "chewing" thing. I am feeling a bit hungry right now (I think) so I probably just need to go to bed soon.  I will be weighing in each morning just because I want to get back into that habit. I know that a lot of people think that is a bad idea, but for me, I just need that accountability DAILY. I stopped doing it and look where it got me (+17lbs) It is a lot easier to ignore the tightening of your pants that the numbers staring you in the face :)  Talk to you in the morning and welcome to the other gal who has decided to join us - feel free to jump right in and share!!! He is my rock, He is my fortress, He is my Deliverer, in Him will I trust. He shall never leave me nor forsake me and for that I am eternally grateful. Praise Him for this glorious day of triumph! ~Laura
