Nosebleed during 5DPT

I was curious if anyone else doing the 5DPT got a nosebleed. I am on day 3 of the 5DPT and have had 2 nosebleeds today! I don't feel as if it has anything to do with allergies, dry air, etc. but I could be wrong. I looked up causes of nosebleeds online and found that rapid weight loss and change in diet can cause them so I was curious to see if anyone else knew more about this.

Jean, Have you had you BP checked?  High blood pressure can cause nose bleeds, but the most likely culprit is the recent low humidity!!!  A rarity for Houston, or anywhere south of Dallas in Texas!!! Hope you find that your BP is normal, and this is just a coinkydink. Cindy

I suffered from bad nose bleeds for years. The blood vessels in your nasal passages are not very thick, and they can get ruptured easily. Blowing your nose hard, a bad cold with a lot of sneezing, bumping your nose, etc. can rupture these. The nose bleed is normally treated at ER's with swabbing the nasal passage with silver nitrate, which mildly cauterizes the blood vessel to stop the bleeding. I had a buddy in the Navy whose mom was a nurse. She told him how to stop nose bleeds quickly, something I did for years. Take a strip of a napkin about the length of a cigarette, and roll it up to a thickness of about the diameter of a cigaretter, 1/4" or so. Place this roll between the upper lip and gum, as far as possible on the person with the nose bleed. Ask them to concentrate on forcing their upper lip down. Within 30 seconds or less the nose bleed stops. This process temporarily restricts the blood vessels in the nasal passages where they clot and stop bleeding.  I finally had to see a ear, nose and throat specialist after a 2 week nose bleed, where it would stop only for a couple of hours and then start again. Final solution was a trip to the ER, whre the doctor inserted a treated medical guaze about 3 feet in length, into each nasal passage.  Local pain meds given while inserting gauze, but 10 minutes later I was in severe pain. I lived on Codeine for the next two weeks while recuperating.  I doubt if a pouch test can cause nose bleeds.
