pain after eating
I had surgery almost 2 weeks ago for a twisted small bowel and adhesions. Plus I have an ulcer.
I am 5 1/2 yrs post op with no complications til now. Now when I eat, I can hardly eat anything compared to before. It also hurst and my stomach gurgles and growls constantly. I'm on prilosec for the ulcer. Any suggestions?
Thx, Colleen
You can hardly eat because of space or pain?
Pain should be noted and addressed by your surgeon/physician.
If it's more about gurlges and growls, I suggest a very high quality PROBIOTIC. After all the disruption from the bowel obstruction, you likely have an inbalance of bacteria. I've had four obstructions and lysis of adhesions five times.
I purchase mine directly from Nature's Sunshine, a company I trust. Dr. Mercola recommends one on his site as well. Probiotics can probably be found at the local gas station these days. I recommend that you thoroughly investigate probiotics to ensure that you purchase one that can stand temperature changes so that it actually has the live bacteria that you are seeking from it.
I hope this helps!
I have two sides to my brain - a right side and a left side. The trouble is sometimes there is nothing left in the right side and nothing right in the left side.

I can eat about 1/2 of what I could before surgery. My surgeon said he didn't touch my pouch but I have an ulcer in it. As soon as I eat anything, even fluids, my stomach rumbles & gurgles like a volcano. I don't know if the pain is from the incision or once the food gets there. Can you explain about probiotics for me? I was on that in the hosp but now I'm on 40 mg of Prilosec a day. I asked him if my pouch could've shrunk from not eating for almost 2 weeks and he said yes. But I don't understand why it hurts and rumbles when I eat if he didn't do anything to my pouch, except I have an ulcer.
Thanks for any help.

Run over to the revision board and ask Dr Schelsinger that question, cause I have been hearing a lot of people having the same issue after revisions - itslike their pouch is reborn - when nothing was done to it . Kinda weird ..
I have pain about 40 min after I eat , my pouch is small but Doc thinks I have a internal hernia / or blockage begining.
