No S Diet Anyone?
Hello All!
I was wondering if any of you read the article from the April 14th edition of Woman's World. There is an article about the new book "No S Diet." It's where you stay away from the three S's during the week: No sweets, no seconds, No Snacks. You can have what you want on the S days meaning Saturday and Sunday. Also "S" stands for special days such as holidays, birthdays, etc.
Anyway, I started trying this yesterday. I was wondering if any others have given this a try.
Thanks,
Janie
I just avoid having sweets two days in a row (or having seconds on them either). That works for me as a general rule. This "S Diet" plan would make Mondays doubly horrible for me -- back to work *and* detoxing off of the weekend junk! Also, I could pack on enough calories in a weekend to undo five days' worth of work. That's just me, though . . .
I know I'm chiming in late here, but I did No S pre-surgery to lose weight. I lost about 40 lbs. in the 2.5 years I was arranging the surgery, but the great thing about No S is it gave me a structure for eating that's served me well after getting my VSG. The key phrase to remember is sweets, snacks, seconds SOMETIMES on S days. Pigging out for 2 days is not going to work.
I DID read that article and it made me laugh because I have been doing that (without a special name for it) for almost 1 and half years!
I eat pretty low carb (although high fat / protein) during the week -- averaging about 3500 calories a day and under 50grams of carbs (120 grams of protein).
Then on the weekends I eat whatever I want.... (Right now I am eating pretzel chips and chocolate chips mixed). I do make sure on the weekends I eat all my protein (Had an entire box of sausage links for breakfast, salmon for lunch and ribs for dinner) but I eat the carbs I desire on weekends.
I think it's great and has helped me maintain over a 200lb loss thus far !!!!!!
