So this morning I wake up and am very happy to make breakfast!  I made a scrambled egg with cheese and a teenie tiny itty bitty piece of filet mignon.  So, first I eat the eggs, then, excited with the prospect of eating something I love, I then take a bite.  I chew, and chew, I am now having an out of body experience.  Happily I swallow.  Then, one more bite, and again swallow!  Then it happened!!   Huh..what is this...I'm FULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I looked at the itty bitty piece of steak that was so willing to give itself to me and bid it ....adieu!  I threw it away, left over steak......eeeeewwwwww!  I jumped with joy not that I thought that I was being lied to but........they werent lying this 5DPT really does work!!  On with the rest of this glorious day! ~J.

Don't you just love that? That 5dpt is a reset for your pouch and your mental attitude...Toss that steak. It's cathartic.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Yep!  Pure craziness!  And after it is over...you remember to eat only til satisfied...You can keep it going so easy if you stay aware! I did the 5DPT ....'um...about 2 months ago and I am still eating til only satisfied!  And I feel soooo much better ...I truly do! My pouch has been soooo much happier ever since.  It helped me to maintain eating better choices and as I am supposed to be eating.  AND drinking water really curbs the appetite ...I was drinking with meals instead of inbetween meals and now I drink water like a ...like a...You fill in the blank!  LOL

That's why we are supposed to eat protein first.  Dense protein of any type is very filling, but especially beef.  I can only eat a few bites of steak or roast beef and I'm full.  When I try to get my protein from say cottage cheese, it goes right through me.  That's the beauty of the 5DPT - to get you back to the basics of protein first.  And speaking of protein, I just discovered Whole Foods (365 brand) Organic Turkey Jerky.   1 oz serving (3 servings per bag) has only 60 calories, 0 fat, 6 carbs, and 11g protein.  A few bites (and a lot of chewing) for a snack and I'm full, and they really taste great!  I'm hooked.  I plan to keep them on hand, in the car, in my desk, etc. for snacking.  Betsy
