I had gastric bypass 6 years ago, and was doing great UNTIL I got pregnant.  Because me son wan't growing they put me on medication to increase appitite and weight gain so that he would be healthy.  And so I gain weight!  Now he's 18 months old and I STILL can't get the weight off.  Anybody have any helpful hints or tips.  I am still very hungry, which I wasn't before I got pregnant.  And while I am very happy that my son was healthy (just a little small) I wan't the extra weight gone. Please help!!!

Some folks have tried the five day pouch test to reset the pouch, get rid of hunger and cravings, It worked for me. Go to www.5daypouchtest.com and check it out. Blessings Betsy

OMGosh, we're in the same boat! I also had a RNY six years ago, and was FINE until I got pregnant! Since 2004, I've had two babies. With my first pregnancy, I gained 63 pounds, lost most of it but the weight crept up. I got pregnant again in 2006 and althought I didn't gain much, I am clinging to the excess weight. I workout EVERYDAY, eat a balanced diet but the scale just won't budge. I'm close to going on a strict Atkins again, and I HATE that diet! Let's be WL buddies, support is key!!! Jennifer

I am so glad that I'm not the only one!!  I only gained 25 lbs, but NONE has come off.  I eat what I'm supposed to, I exercise and it just won't come off.  I'm thinking about starting the 5 day pouch diet, but am a little worried about it.  Hopefully it will help.  good luck with the Adkins

JENNIFER-We're surgery twins-4/22/02 AND I had gained exactly 63 pounds-but had no babies to blame it on,and had never reached goal before starting the regain. Late last summer I did the five day pouch test for the first time Thanks to DANA (cajun girl). I can't begin to tell you how it TOTALLY helped me, except to say I am now TWO pounds away from losing all my regain and feel I can truly be on my way to goal,  even all these years later. If I lose regain, ANYBODY CAN..If I can be of ANY help-just hollar!!

Okay I'm starved. Is this just day 1 and2 that I will feel like this or all week??  I haven't been on a liquid diet since right before my surgery.  So am I just that out of touch with myself, or what??  I was doing okay until I got home, I had to fix my son dinner and now I can't get the foodout of my head.  Im thinking about smothering  him in kisses just to get a taste of good food!!!!

I would sure try the 5-day test. I've read where a lot of people have good results from it. You're a good mama for putting the health of your baby first. I'll pray that the Lord gives you some extra strength over the next few months to help you. :)

Thanks for the good Mama part.  I was really amazed how many people in other support groups were against me attempting to gain weight.  It was weird taht they would even consider not doing for the health of their baby.  So even if I never lose another pound at least my son was born as healthy as I could make him (he was little and in the NICU for a few days).  Good luck to you and thanks for the post.  I am planning on trying the 5-day thing next week since several people have mentioned it.

Have you seen Dr. Warnock lately?  I have heard he has a "get back on track" plan to help with any re-gain patients might experience.  I am sure he would have helpful advice.  He is a very kind Dr.
