2 yrs later - burning tummy

Hello Friends.  I am almost 2 years post op and last week I started getting a burning feeling whenever I ate just about anything.  A few days ago I started taking Prilosec just as I did in the beginning of my journey as a preventative (Docs orders), but as of yet it has not helped.  Has this happened to anyone else who might offer suggestions as to the cause or "cure"?  I see my surgeon in a few weeks, but I was hoping for help sooner. Thanks you guys!

Sorry to hear this......my first thought was an ulcer, glad you are seeing your doc.  You may want to call sooner rather than later. Best wishes,

Take the Prilosec once in the morning and once at night. And add some Maalox about 20 minutes after a meal. Be sure and tell your doctor how you're treating the problem. The combo should give you some relief, but you may need something else for a cure.

I would definitely continue with the Prilosec and add the liquid Maalox...I take cimetidine and Maalox if necessary...also, take into account what you're eating...I have discovered that I can't eat certain foods or I will have a burning feeling for hours!

Yes, I will continue with the Prilosec and add the Maalox (ugh!).  Actually the Prilosec has helped a bit so far.  I started paying attention to everything I ate and realized EVERYTHING was causing 'pain'.  Even foods I had previously eaten without any problems started nagging - I'm Italian so I call it (please forgive my spelling grandpa) AGITA - (oh my grandpa is rolling in his grave, I just know it!)  I also discovered when I press on it, the pain is not too bad.  Not sure what that has to do with easing the pain, but it works for me.  Take good care.
