Had my consult with the PS .

I actually had two appointments Monday.  Saw the dietician first and discussed how she would change my diet for the healing process if my surgery is approved by insurance.  Otherwise just the usual stuff. The consult went very well.  She said she sees no reason why they would deny it.  Had 2 letters......one from my GP and one from my WLS surgeon.  So those along with her paperwork and those horrid picture should be sufficient.  If insurance does approve the procedure they can cover then I already have money to cover the rest.  It will be a panniculectomy, abdominoplasy with lipo and a wedge resection. So now it's just waiting on insurance.  She says when it's approved I could schedule it as soon as the following week.  I can't wait!!

I saw Dr Grasse.  She was very down to Earth and didn't try to talk above me.   I don't know anything about the clothing exchange.  When and where?  Would be fun to meet.

Hi Dawn, I loved Dr. Grasse, and she did not make me feel uncomfortable at all, either! I hope that all works out for yu and that your insurance is able to help! I was greatful that mine paid and that Dr. Grasse's office was able to fill everything out and hepl me with their approval! As far as the clothing exchange, there are a ot of threads on the Indiana Board, check it out- if you go down a few to the reminder post it has the address- 1117 Bridgeport Rd and it is from 11-3 onthis Saturday! We always have a wls friendly pitch-in as well. It is alot of fun and a great socialization and support for us Hoosier Losers. Sometimes some from other states come as well. We have quite a few and many that travel to this event. We hold them in Jan, April, July and October. I have held quite a few myself, this will be my first one in a while since I had to change jobs and all that I am not hosting. obin is hosting his one, I look forward to going and meeting the new folks as well as catching up with those that I have met on my previous exchanges. Maybe you could make it- sometimes people will also post if they are traveling from further away looking for someone that they can carpool with- that is always fun as well.Take a peek on the Indy board and feel free to join in there as well, k? Look forward to meeting you soon, hopefully Saturday, if you can make it! By the way the exchange is free. You just bring spare clothes, if you have any. We place them on marked tables for the appropriate sizes and after we socialize and have the pitch-in we shop for our new clothes. The leftover clothing is usually donated to a charity. All is fun! Hugz Dawn

I wish I had the nerve. My friend told me I'd have to get naked and lean forward, letting all my stuff droop down together, and they'd take pictures from all angles. There's no way I could even get through the consult, let alone the actual surgery. My sorry insurance wouldn't pay anything either. So I guess I'm stuck with all this. I hope everything goes easy for you.

I didn't actually have to get naked.  I kept on my bra and then had to put on the lovely paper panties.  They are a definite fashion statement.  lol I also didn't have to lean forward and let everything droop.  The whole process was not near as bad as I had imagined.  I just call the pictures horrid because.........well I own a mirror.  I know what they have to look like.  lol

That is what my MIL (who had RNY in 2002, then PS in 2005) told me too... I think I would pass out from embarassment. :(   I'd love to get new boobs and a flat tummy... but I dunno....

Wanda, You dont have to get totally naked.LOL  I had a TT and am having a thigh lift on July one. They give you a paper gown plus I kept my bra on.  If the Dr is a good one he makes you so at ease it isnt a big deal and I thought I WOULD NEVER be ok , but mine is so nice and laid back it was a piece of cake . I am SO THRILLED at the results so well worth it girl  Shirley

Dawn good luck with the approval, I've had some plastics (and would like more, yes it's addicting, lol).  Just wanted to say the skin removal is very emotional (in a good way), the post-plastics depression/emotions is tough.......so prepare yourself mentally for highs and lows, yes even with plastics.
