I found this instant energy B12 in the health food store & bought it without thinking. Does this kind of B12 do us any good? It's a powder form that you add to liquid.

Good question. I take the sublingual dots twice a day haven't heard of it in powder form.

My understanding is that  unless it ender the tongue or injected  our bodies will not absorb B-12, when swallowed - its absorbed in the iileum and jejenum  witch have been bypassed b y the surgey.

Actually, in RNY it is the majority of the stomach and the duodenum that is bypassed.

Vitamin B12 MUST be bound to something called intrinsic factor in order for it to be absorbed in the ileum section of the small intestine.  Intrinsic factor is secreted in the portion of the stomach that has been bypassed, therefore it does not bind to ANY B12 that you consume orally.  WE must get our B12 either injected or sublingually in order for it to do us any good.

I'd be a little suspicious about the "Instant Energy" part. Hmmmmm...
