Has anyone used SparkPeople.com? I just logged in and it looks wonderful. I lapsed and gained 4 pounds this past week and I am really anxious about it, like really worried. I feel like all hope is lost. I am going to the shrink and I think she was disappointed with me that I haven't called the nutritionist she recommended. But, it will mean taking a look at myself and lifestyle, and who wants to do that? I might see the truth about me and that is really scary. -=db=-

i am using spark people and so far i am happy with it.  every day i get a pretty decent idea of what i am eating and the calories, nutrients, etc. involved. there are two other sites many WLS patients also use. fitday.com and the daily plate good luck, jacki

I've tried fit day and it's not nearly as robust as SparkPeople. I just got a log in for it and I like what I am seeing so far. -=db=-

D.B., I haven't yet but. would like to. I'm really bumming this week myself about my re-gain & the scale issues. Dr's office scale is more vs my home scale that still won't move. I know it can be scary but, shoot I've made a lot of positive changes in my lifestyle & I'm still struggling. Just remember you're only human & it is natural to have those anxious emotions as I do too hun. At least you're trying. That's what I keep telling myself. If we could only go back in time huh? Well, try not to worry & good luck with everything. Take care

I just started using it today as well. Looks great.  4lbs isn't that bad. I can fluctuate that with water alone in a week! I hate being tied to the scale. All hope is not lost!  Just start tracking and become conscious of behavior - what you are eating, how much exercise you are getting in, etc.  Awarness is half my battle. I think tools like sparkpeople and fitday are wonderful for people like us trying to get on track.  I had a regan of +40 and am about to hit my 3yr anniversary.  Instead of looking at even the scale weight and freaking out I'm just going back to basics, reminding myself of the rules, and going to take it one day at a time.  Shrinks work for you. You don't work for them.. Don't worry about disappointing her. Focus on empowering yourself, visualizing success, and staying positive.  Go see the nutritionist for YOU! If you don't like the one she suggested then maybe shop around for another one.

I have been using spark people for just about one year now to track my food and nutrition . I have found it very helpful. I can see if I am eating the right foods and getting in the necessary protien  and calories each day and I can also monitor my fat and carb intake. It  has some good recipes and lots of good advice for weight loss and exercise.

Hang in  there Dee, by tracking your intake you might see where you can make some changes to keep up your weight loss.

One of my good friends at work has tried fitday.com, thedailyplate.com, and sparkpeople.com, and she likes sparkpeople the best.  She said it's easy to use, pretty intuitive, and it gives her all the information she's looking for.   It can be hard to take a good look at ourselves; we sometimes see things we'd rather ignore, but often those are the things that are holding us back, keeping us from becoming the best we can be.  It's not easy to face our demons, it's hard, and it can be painful, but if you have the courage to do it, you  will come out on the other side feeling better, more in touch with yourself, more whole, more healthy, more centered.  This is not an easy journey - I don't know about you, but I didn't wind up weighing close to 400 pounds because I liked to eat a little too much....   Good luck on your continuing journey -  Kellie

I like sparkpeople. Once you get all your meals and food into your favorites, it doesn't take a long time to enter everything. I used to do WW online and paid a lot of $$$ for it, and sparkpeople is almost identical to it (free).
