i just started working out with a personal trainer. and since starting this last friday my appetite is gone. I force myself to eat. I was taking in only about 700-900 cals a day before the trainer and now trying to increase it to 1200 because of the whole no food metabolism slows and weight stays or you gain. i am 7 yrs post op, and 1 yr post op plastics. I lost 100 pounds in the first 2-3 years but have gained 30 several reasons....poor food choices, drinking with my meals, stress eater, lazy, depressed, thyroid and just plain ignorant and not following the rules.....I am a rebel. i am actually training to box for fun and possibly get into some body building. Today I weigh 166.5. I am lifting weights and cardio as well as abs and so on. Trainer is also known as GYM NATZI, but i love him....... anyhow so can anyone tell me why I would lose my appetite while adding such rigoris exercise to my day?????? thanks tabbykat

Your problem sounded good to me. I always seem to starve when I work out more. I googled, and it came up with this:  "Exercise intensity also affects appetite levels. The few studies that have closely examine the relationship between exercise intensity and food intake note that the higher the intensity of exercise, the more severe the degree of appetite suppression, and the longer duration of reduced food intake." Hopefully, it will get easier for you to get in enough calories after you get used to all this working out. I didn't know it could actually curb your appetite.

Hi Wanda , thank you for your reseach i have the same exact problem as Tabby. i am actually going through it for 2 years. i had no idea that this was causing me not wanting to eat.....  who knew ... lol i have to force myself to eat everyday i have no desire to eat.  i don't have a appetite. i eat on schedule and eat every 2-3 hours. if I don't get enough calories in me for the day i do drink my protein shakes. thank you again. hugss Lizzy

Hey there sister rebel! LOL I don't know if you are anything like me....but when I am determined to work on something, I put my all into it...****il I get lazy again)  Anyway, I noticed that when I am in that determined zone, it's the head hunger that is gone and not real hunger...I can even work passed real gut hunger when I am REALLY determined.  So I'm wondering if you really didn't have a belly appetite and your head is just in the right place now?  Hum???  (Just my experience anyway) Especially after working out for a few days...then comes the appetite and it's real! Haha...I can put away some food when I am working out!  Make sure you get some good protein while working out like that!  You'll build those muscles faster and burn more fat! When I work out really hard (Not since last summer) I use Cher-amino daily for 80 calories of superior muscle building whey with 15 grams of complete protein!  2 tablespoons is all you have to suck down...Tastes like rotten cherries, but it's quick...easy and is great for muscles without the bulk and calories.  I'm not taking it now because I'm not doing anything worth bragging about! LOL  Good luck...I love boxing...Good work out! Anita

thanks...........hmmmmm rotten cherries.......yum-o i am eating relatively healthy and getting in 100 gr protien from shakes because I dont eat enough food. but this is the strangest feeling to not be hungry when i should.............hmmmmm.............i only boxed the one day and it was with GYM NATZI hodling a bag and backing me into a corner...waiting for my gloves and for my local gym to get a bag...I dont want contact....i am freaky about my teeth and face....no bruises he wants me to start body building because I am so short and HOT as he put it......hmmm wonder what he was smoking...............he wants to use me as advertisement for his career.....i am game.  oh well thanks for the input....always good to have first hand knowledge...... ciao tabbykat

Rotten cherries, yeah...I know gross! But I forgot to say I can't do whey protein shakes... lactose intolerant if I'm not dumping it, I'm lying in pain or shooting stink bombs...NOT cool!  LOL (I could scare your Natzi trainer with those bombs!)  Yeah I don't like my face being hit...I don't care who it is...If someone even accidentally hits my face...I see RED! And I will start swinging...And I am the least violent person you could meet! My kids never hit mommy or each other when they were little or big for that matter...hehe Good you are getting protein! And you are hot and I don't smoke nuttin'   Anita

i mix my whey in water, i can eat cheese, yogurt but no milk...icky oh my god...my pink boxing gloves came today...................yay me...its on. me hot..........um no.......weed smokers........ha ha

Hi tabby WOW .... thank you for posting this for 2 years i've been like this. reason being is what you are going through.... i workout a lot and high intense and i don't feel like eating. i never have a appetite or have the desire to eat. yes ....i do have to force myself to eat  if I don't eat , i get sick. so i eat on schedule , every 2 -3 hours of small meals and snacks and if I don't get enough calories throughout the day i drink my protein shakes. again Tabby , thank you for posting this best wishes to you :-) hugss Lizzy
