I have been off track for awhile. I went back to the gym today. I never got to goal. Any of you get majorly off track and have to get back to the basics again?

Hi-- I have never gotten to my goal of 175#, but I believe that my extra skin is the culprit.  I am still 33# above my goal, but  very healthy.  I believe I could reasonably say that I'm "a success story"! I have friends that have done PS and have gotten the rest of the weight off;  that will not be an option for me financially. Going to the gym and going back to the basics (protein, complex carbs, water and exercise) might be just what the doctor ordered!   Good luck.

I was at 420 lbs got to 220 then now I am up to 295 lbs. I think you look great. When I got down to the 220 lbs the dr said that i had at least 40 lbs of skin. I am in the same predictament. I had to privately pay for my GBP.  You look fantastic.  One of my biggest downfolds has been drinking with my meal. Is that stupid or what. ANd also diet soda. I was good for two years and then started drinking it. Now I swear I can not have a diet coke with food. I think you are right. Going back to the basics.

hey there, I had fallen off in a major way never made it to goal, my lowest had me at 15 pounds away from it, and I gained 20. Going back to basics should definitely help.

Big time ! I was off track for too long & gained after getting under goal. Now I'm looking at 50 I want to lose again. Since I returned here (after 5 years) I'm back on track & no longer take "my tool" for granted as before. It was so easy for me to lose it all & did great until the last two years. Yes, have found it to be a lot harder to lose again this time around. That's great that you're back at the gym & you're aware of needing to get back to the basics. A few months ago I thought I was the only one ! Good luck !

Thank you so much for your message. You have been the only one that responded. I when I was fresh out for two years followed everything to the tee and then life got crazy as life does at times and threw me off track. I know if I would not have had the surgery I would have gained all my weight back.  They say the honeymoon is when you lose the weight first off, I look at it as my honeymoon was when I focus solely on weight loss. I think that people have no clue on how it can get out of hand quickly. It is a struggle I know that regardless will be everyday. The WLS is helping no doubt. It is only the beginning.  Oh my yours is 5 years. Knowing myself I know I will probably take advantage of the tool again I would be lying but I think I have to be reasonable when I do not do succeed. Oh boy, more than you wanted to hear. If you ever want to write again pleasssssssssse feel free. It is nice there is someone else out there.
