I had mine done in April 2006 - was an easy surgery for me - was off work 1 week - i would think it would depend on how you are feeling and when the drains come out - I had a pain pump that was worth the extra money I paid for it - I had my surgery on a Monday and was back to work the following Monday - but I did let my work know that I couldn't lift over 5 pounds, and if I wasn't feeling well I was going to go home to rest - i worked in an office setting and never went home - but I did as my surgeon told me - It did take 7 - 10 days before I could stand completely straight.

i am 2 weeks post op today.  i wouldn't have been able to go back to work after one week...even if i had to go back to work tomorrow, i think it would have to be part time, because i get tired pretty easily. but everyone's tolerance is different gl heidi

According to what you do at work. I couldn't work for several weeks , partly because I had a hernia repair at the same time. However, most TT include muscle repair, as does a hernia repair. So it depends on the person, your age, health, and your work duties.

I had my TT and a breast reduction on Jan 30th and went back to work on Feb 13th.  Two weeks off.   I had drains for 7 days and was told to take it very easy, to allow the healing process to get a good headstart before I went back to work.  Even simple things like maneouvering through the snow on foot, to get to the bus stop, could have caused a fall. Truthfully, I was thankful for the time off.     Karen

I hah my TT on 9/27. I stayed out of work for 3 weeks. I could have gone back at 2, but glad I stayed on 3 weeks. It takes a while for the energy level to come back. B
