Accountability... what did you eat Tuesday

Big day for me on Tuesday. I went to my PCP and discussed the blood work AND the rashes AND the negative results for Celiac and Herpetiformis. She prescribed a cream because she doesn't believe it's something I'm eating. Then I went to the allergist and discussed the same. He prescribed a stronger cream and agreed with the PCP that it's not something I'm eating...With no evidence of Celiac or allergic reactions, they are all pointing to stress. So I'm going to have to get over the whole thing and treat the stress. They assured me that if it gets down to the wedding in October, they can treat it with stronger steroids (temporary, just for the wedding) and we'll go from here. So now I can get on with it and sample foods and see if anything at all effects it. Nothing yet.  Breakfast: 1/4 cup TVP, 1/4 Mighty Tasty Hot Cereal, 1 cup soy milk, coffee (2 cups) Snack: 1 oz cheese stick, 1/2 cup celery with reduced fat peanut butter, 3 T.  Lunch: 4 oz shrimp and ****tail sauce (1/8 cup) Snack: 12 oz V-8 Juice Dinner: a packaged ceasar salad from Walmart, I didn't catch the Nutrition except for 19 grams of protein.  Snack just before Support group: 1 Balance Protein Bar Snack after Support group: SoBe Cereal Protein Bar Fluids: 4 bottles of drink mixed water, 24 oz each. Totals: Calories (without the salad) 1312 Fat: (without the salad) 44 Carbs (without the salad) 142 Protein: (WITH the salad) 120 I think I did okay. Now to wrap my head around the stress issues and keep sailing.

Well it is clear that stress is a major part of your life right now and I know somedays it looks like it will never end.  Somehow you need to find a place just for you that you can go to that is stress free.. that doesnt mean to actually travel there but in your mind.  Maybe get a bag you can beat up to get it out.  There are lots of techiques out there to deal with stress, do they work.. it really depends on the person and their needs.  Letting go of things is sometimes the toughiest things but stressing over them is only making you sick.  Find your way my friend to let things go.  know that you do not have to fix the world and that life is life.  Take it as it comes.  just be good to yourself and look to see what you need to be ok.. not what everyone else needs. Stay well.. and by the way.. great day. but you already know that.. and I know you know this too.  You just gotta find the way to get to it. Big hug for you Carla

We have local support group but for grads and people who admit to having weight and food issues, it's only once a month. I'm thinking I need to meet with them (even the pre-ops) so that I'm meeting once a week...Either that or see a psych on  a regular basis...Have't really decided yet but I'm trying to get stress relief.

Maybe just knowing you don't have to watch out for anything with wheat might even help take some of that stress out !  That would have made me stress!  When is the wedding and are you getting married? Or a child?  Sorry just being nosy!  LOL Have you tried oatmeal soaps and baths? They are very soothing on the skin..( Iused to get really horrible hives when I stressed out...oatmeal felt good).   Well, hope the lotions the docs gave you help... You also just reminded me I need a fix of shrimp ****tail soon!  LOL Anita

My daughter and her fiance are getting married in Hawaii in October. I have the CUTEST spaghetti strap dress for the wedding but the rash/hives is so ugly it scares people. I just don't want to be ugly in the photos.

Aww...I hope you get to wear it!  Hawaii! I always wanted to go there...After being frozen all winter...that really sounds so nice.  Well you have some time to get stress free and look for a cute shawl just in case!   Well, good luck and hopefully once the plans all fall into place, you will have relaxed enough to heal-thy-self...I hope so! Dawn sorry they did not come up with anything but that is good news really. At least it's not Celiac but its a reaction to most likely an ingredient. I have lived with PTSD for nearly 40 yrs (stress) and one thing it never gave me was a rash. You have to be the pilot in this journey. Hope today was a good one for you. ~Ginny

I had to do a whole lot of soul searching on this to see why having this rash bothered me so bad and the wedding is the problem. AND being told that it was stress really bothered me because I pride myself at being the Rock of Gibralter...I'm not suppose to be hysterical or effected by stress. I'm the strong one. So I have to get my head wrapped around this and get it going in the right direction. I'm still working on it. I've been under stress my whole life so this is just probably the end of a long line of issues that I have not dealt with...I'll get through it alright. I have support, here and locally... Thanks All!

Hey having a rash is no fun.  trust me having psoriasis and rashes are something I live with.  At one point I had a rash everywhere on my body.  for years they couldnt figure out what was wrong with me.  Finally a doc got it right and gave me medication for it.  I am rash free now but have to take things to keep it at bay.  Oh I do have a spot on my head.. but I can live with that one. A lot of my problems was stress and weight.  I lost the weight and learned to manage my stress.  I know this is a very difficult time for you.  I wish there was something that could be done.  Having a rash and wanting to look "normal" and wear what you want.. it makes a big difference.   Just a thought.  is it as bad in the summer.  you might try getting a sun tan (burn) at a salon to dry it up some.  It could help.  I know  a lot of people swear by it to get rid of their rash.  It cant hurt to try.  have they ruled out psoriasis.  It really cant be tested for.  I didnt get it until later in life which I guess is one of the characteristics of it.  They told me it was a ton of things before they got it right.
