Extreme Sore Throat- need advice
This started yesterday, but got so much worse during the night. It's only on the left side of my mouth and radiates to my ear. It hurts just sitting here, but is total agony when I swallow.
Is this how the dreaded flu begins?
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've got to get rid of this pain!

Sounds like an ear infection... that is draining down your throat. My daughter just got over hers! (Thats how hers started) Otherwise I am sooooo illiterate when it comes to diagnosis! LOL It just sounds like what my daughter started with...She was given ear drops and antibiotics...and was fine in 4 days...
Hope you feel better!

Michele,
So sorry your sick...nothing hurts worse than a real sore throat...My advice would be ditto on getting to a Dr. ....as with ear infections are nothing to fool with. I have also found that if you mix a small bottle of 1/2 honey 1/2 vinigar mix well..take 1 tablespoon 6 times a day....it really does help. I have started doing this when I first get a tickle in my throat...and when I do the sore throat is gone in the morning : ) It is the vinigar that kills the bacteria and the honey that soothes the throat. Its an old time remedy that I found online but it sure works for me when I first start getting sick. I hope it works for you too. Get to a DR. tho you may need antibiotics.

I'm sorry you are feeling bad. I hope it's not what I've had for a week now...Strep, My doctor gave me antibiotics and the pain went away in 3 days but I still feel awful. Don't wait, get to the doctor before it goes full blown.
