who comes here?
Hi everyone! I am a vet lapbander and trying to find a peaceful home for WLS grads. I left the OH lapband board about a year ago, took refuge with the new vets lapband board at Prince Edward Island. But that has become a home for unwarranted aggression as well!
I don't want that! Can't be bothered with it all!
So I checked in here. But all then posts seem to be from RNY people. Now I have nothing whatsoever against RNY!!! But I do like chatting with fellow bandsters as well as other WLS types. Do you get bandsters on here?

Hi Kate,
I just found this board too after years on the Minnesota state board. I still go to the MN board, they are great - but there are alot of newer post-ops there and I thought maybe a board of old-timers would be good for me, since I am one of them! From what I can see, everyone seems nice and "calm" here. I know what you mean about unwarranted aggression...I'm too old and tired for much of that!

It's better to be imperfectly happy than perfectly unhappy.
Hi Kate, I agree the majority are RNYers but we do have grads of other surgery types also. I was shocked at the post I saw with all the vile language on the board you speak of....I wouldn't want to be involved in that either.
Maybe if you start posting here and some of your friends, we'll get more bandsters posting....this is a Grad board not for any specific surgery but for all of us.
Have a great day!

Hi Kate! I agree that you should keep posting and hopefully more bandsters will begin replying. My first wls was Vertical Banded Gastroplasty which was what was available before banding was legal here in the US and it functioned similarly to your banding without the adjustment capability so I can relate a bit to your situation. It wasn't the right surgery for me but it never malfunctioned, I'm so happy that there are so many different types of wls available so that we can all find the correct 'fit' for ourselves.

That's good to hear, Scott and everyone else. I think all we WLS grads are fantastic and the fact we are grads show that WLS is doing great things for us all!
