My New Story
Sort of like my revelation recently. I'm turning 50 this year and will probably never see 100 so, therefore, I'm PAST middle age...I have less time left than I've lived. Too little time to worry about some number on the scale but I sure do want to be healthy.
Good luck with the kidney stones! Here's to having them pass while you're well sedated...without surgery.
Thanks for your post!
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

You are so very special because YOU are you. You are unique. You teach. You inspire. Brad Pitt will never be you either and that's his problem. Good luck with realizing that you are fine just as you are. You are hopefully, minus the kidney stones that is, healthy.
Best wishes on the removal of said kidney stones. We had a urologist come see us at our WLS support group and he said that drinking a glass of water with 1ounce of lemon juice twice a day and call prevent kidney stones. Also make sure you taking citrate not carbonate on your calcium. Kathy

Daniel;
I'm so glad you're finding acceptance of the current you. I read your post a few weeks ago and felt sad for you. I don't remember if I responded because I don't know that I had any thing that I thought would have helped you.
I'm sorry being sick gave you the insight to see the real you, but I'm glad you saw it. We all struggle with body dysmorphia for a time after reaching our goal weights. I know every day someone tells me that I'm still getting smaller when I've been maintaining my weight for 10 months now and today was the first time I've ever looked in the mirror and saw a small person. If I knew the formula, I'd bottle it as an elixir and give a bottle to everyone I know because it was a major epiphany for me.
Blessings, Jennifer

I could have written your post, except my "issue" was a small bowel obstruction (due to scar tissue formation from my GB surgery)! Thankfully, I'm on the mend from emergency surgery three weeks ago; here's to hoping they can blast your stones with a lasar or something and you can avoid surgery. GOOD LUCK!
BTW: while it IS an effective way to lose 10-15 pounds, I would NOT recommend a bowel obstruction to do it!
