Hi Everyone!! I had my rny in 7/06. My lowest has been 169 --currently 173 and I am really looking to take off another 25lbs or so. I just joined weigh****chers last week and am doing great. I wanted to see if there was anyone else out there that has had the surgery and now back on weigh****chers--I say back bc I definitly tried ww before my surgery but found that i could not stick to it. I must say--with a smaller stomach, i am finding it not so hard to stick to. Also, has anyone had any negative reactions from other ww members after they found out that you had gastric bypass surgery?

Danielle, Doesn't it stink that after all we have been through we need to consider going back to WW or whatever?  I too have had to think about this.  I have NOT arrived.  This is just a thought, not a sermon, but...right now I am thinking that using the 'tool' as it has been given is what I need to do.  Do the things we are supposed to do; no snacking, water & 30 min. rule, protein first, limit sugar and starch.  Maybe the 5 day pouch test to keep it all in check.  I think it is the accountability of WW that would be beneficial.  You know, having to weigh in weekly, have support.  Certainly we are on a different playing field than most WW'ers.  However, I also do not feel that I have to share my life story with everyone--I am not comfortable with being a poster child for RYN, in other words-I would not think you would have to tell the other people at WW that you have had surgery.   With that all said, maybe involvement in a support group or these board and looking for great recipes in South Beach type recipe books.  At least that is my idea.  Maybe we should start a thread with our current weights and track it weekly?  In other words, I am not sure, just thinking out loud, knowing all my weight issues have not been magically solved and trying to keep it in check.  I will be looking forward to seeing what others say and how you are doing!  I am SURE you will do great, it is obvious that you want to make a plan to succeed and you will!

My daily intake is pretty much what the WW plan is....I have gone to several meetings since my WLS and I have chose not to mention it to anyone.  It is no ones business....

Recently I ran into a WW leader who had to stop doing the meetings since she went back to school.  She is planning to start back at being a leader and she encouraged me to come to her meetings.  She said it does not matter to me how you lost your weight as long as you are healthy...but the support is what counts.

Good luck...

I don't exactly follow WW but I make a lot of their recipes. I'm like the others - I don't know that I would share that I had WLS unless you just want people to know. I think my RNY just put me on a level playing field with the rest of the population, not that I necessarily have that great of an advantage over them. Like you, I couldn't stick to WW before because my stomach almost ate itself, but I could probably do it now. Good luck!

Wow i thought I was the only one needing to join Weigh****chers after WLS regain. I need to get off aprox 20 pounds. It's my fault, I have an addiction to food, I don't even need to be hungry to graze. I'am ashamed that I allowed myself to regain some weight back. I joined WW three weeks ago, and am having a hard time writing everything down and following my points. Probely because I'am mad at having to rejoin a weight loss program. Again I am to blame, I guess I'am lazy about it. I have been going to the gym 3 to 4 days a week for 2 hours each time., for the pass 9 months. Everyone tells me how good I look now, that I looked sickly before. But that regain sticks with me as a failer. I know I will continue to gain if I don't get control of my grazing. We need to start up a support group and call it Weight loss surgery regainers who have rejoined weigh****chers support group. Anyone intrested?  yvonne

Howdy! I'm a weigh****chers member as well. I'm not a rousing success at it but at least i lose something every week and the support I get is tremendously helpful. I haven't mentioned to anyone that  i had weight loss surgery, it's not their business. One of the things i found funny is that there are (3) other woman who had some sort of bariatric surgery as well. I enjoy weigh****chers, it keeps me accountable and I'm doing ok on it. If you'd like to keep in touch regarding WW i'd love to. ANDI
