Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble regulating body temperature?

...this is such a cliche- have you had your labs checked???low iron or anemia may cause trouble regulating body temp- i go from hot to cold and cold to hot all day long...

constantly cold may be a sign of anemia or low iron...or you may just be "cold blooded" (in rick james' voice)...

My labs are awesome, so I know it's not that.  I'm not a lightweight, I still weigh in the 170s so I know it's not a lack of padding. Oddly enough, everyone who answered here about being cold had RNY. No GS, no DS, no lap banders. Are the RNYs the only ones who are cold? LOL!

Me too! I'm always cold. My poor husband thinks its a sign that I don't want to be "intimate" with him when I go to bed in my flannels - but I have to reassure him that I'm just plain cold! LOL! I tell him we can get intimate like that but don't throw my clothes too far across the room because I'll need them after we're done creating a little heat. He just rolls his eyes and says it kinda ruins the mood... course it doesn't take away his desire completely

However, I will say that since I'm working on maintenance eating and increasing my calories a little bit it has gotten slightly better...

I had this problem in 2001 after I had lost about 50 lbs on WW.  Cold was the first problem, then it progressed to extreme fatigue.  (I would need a mid-day nap to make it through the day).  I finally found a doctor that listened and started thyroid meds, which have helped greatly.  (If you go on them, you need to be patient as it will probably take 2-3 months until you feel their effect).  Thyroid problems are quite common in women, often starting in perimenopause.  Even with meds, my body temp averages around 97.6, so while I still run cool, I feel better than when I was down around 97.  I would recommend having your thyroid tested, especially if there is a family history of thyroid problems.

Hope this helps!

I am almost 5 years post, and like almost everyone who has posted a question, I was always cold. After stabilizing and putting on some weight, I can tolerate the cold. There are a few times that I have to put on the flannel pj's and socks to bed even in the summer.  Also like kirbylou, was put on thyroid meds after experiencing fatigue that sometimes lasted a week after a trip. But one of my biggest concerns is that my feet still turn blue. I noticec that while in a hot shower and have one leg propped up (shaving), the foot that I am bearing my weight on is blue. Once I switch legs my foot pinks up and the other one I stand on turns blue. It worries me that there is some type of circulation problem or maybe a type of neuropathy.

Still blue in Texas!
