Anita..
HI!!! Aww c'mere and gimme a group hug! (you and Angie!)<---Killing two posts with one hug! hehehe... You're both so sweet! If Tracy is around...I forgot to give her a hug the other day too for her hugs! Again my dumb computer quit!
My Internet is making me so insane! I keep getting logged off...I lose my posts...I have been writing posts on "word" documents and then pasting them just incase my internet dies in the middle like it's been doing. I have satelite wireless and when it's freezing or windy or cloudy FERGITABOUTIT!
Anyway...Doc called me first thing this morning and wants me in for another round of CBCs and B1 and B-12. She said that she didn't want to wait 2 months afterall. I'm not sure why she changed her mind...but I'm a little glad she did because even though I don't feel bad...I'm a little wigged out, especially now that TOM is here and (not to be gross or anything) but
******warning******something gross about to be said
My blood is not red...It's kinda bright yet thin orangy red. Weirdness. Come to think of it...Was similar last month too. So when I asked about that she said sure..that's lack of oxygen in the blood...:::heebie jeebies::::Yipes...I'm a little wigged out again. I guess this is real! I was hoping it was a false reading...That's okay...I'm gonna git this thing beat!

Anita I am so glad to hear they want you sooner than 2 months. Lack of oxygen in blood means you heart can not function properly. That is what took me to ER in 2001. For me it was palpitations and some chest pain and as I often described palpitationsit like sitting on a train moving all the time.
They will probably set up the iron infusion that will bring up your hemo as well. Make sure you take those vits and hopefully they will you to o the B12's at home. Very easy and it does help. Taking iron through orally will never bring you to a normal number at this stage. If they give you the script for B12 its very cheap if your insurance doesn't cover it. I use insulin needles which you can't feel. I have been doing shots since 17 thats a long time for me (58) and I have mastered doing it on my hip or butt now twice a week. Started with thighs.
I waited all day for the doc to get back to me from her first call this morning. I have been researching anemia and reading as much as I can. It's not nice that's for sure...The treatements are drastic...Blood is some scary stuff! (Plus it always involves needles!) :::pouting::: I'll do what i have to do, I guess! I get palps too I thought they were mild anxiety attacks which I get on and off for many years. More often recently...The symtoms are hard to notice...That's one of the big problems.
Well I guess I have another week before any real decision are made. Now I have to get the B-12 results.
Finally my internet is working and I have to go finish making dinner...Oh well...I'll be back!
Hugs
Anita
Your connection came back and mine went down! I
Palpitations were the worse for me...old primary insisted it was anxiety since I do have a PTSD (my husbands military injury) from past but that was not it...gave me medication for it and I threw it out after 6 months. I like being in control of m y life. I increased my omega and I won't take mind altering drugs like lexapro. It had me so paranoid I was afraid to open my own front door. I am no dr but if there is palpitation and you don't feel you are anxious then they need to look for a reason and not just treat a symptom.
When I went to the ER in 2001 it was because of the palpitations, lucky for me there was an oncology dr on call that evening or I may still not know what was causing my blood problems. 4 days later I went home with plenty of blood but nothing was done to treat the ferritin. The dr who was on call that evening scheduled me for a followup. I didn't go to him, I sought out the best oncologist/hematologist in my area and that who has been treating me since.
So now you're armed with more information and hopefully you'll be on the road to good health soon.
