The Home Stretch - Day 5

Good morning ~ I'm very happy to say that I feel great (despite what might be bronchitis).  My pouch is tighter than it was when I started this on Monday, I've now lost 6 pounds and I'm below 200 pounds for the first time since before I was pregnant last year.   It's been a great week.  I've learned a lot about my pouch and what I've done in the last few years to not take care of this great tool. Today I had my morning smoothie and just had some scrambled eggs with one very small piece of tasty bacon.  That was literally my only splurge since starting on Monday. I plan to continue with eating the soft proteins early in the day and following days 4 & 5 the rest of the day with produce added back into my diet.   Thanks so much for all of your kind words and support this week.  I'm so glad my friend pointed me to both this site and the site for the pouch test.

Congratulations!  Glad to see you survived (knew you would) and you are feeling great about it......I had a scrambled egg for breakfast and it felt like someone was sitting on my chest for over 2 hours......Mr. Pouch still doesn't like scrambed egg (and it was soft scrambled *blech*).

That's fantastic ! I agree, the last few years for me were the same. We're healthier & feel so much better emotionally & physically when we're in better control & do right by our tool. Including keeping in touch here. Good luck & much success in your weight loss ! Take care

Well good for you!  Now you are a 5 Day believer too! LOL I wish you much more success... now that you've gotten the feel for your pouch and what you have to continue to do...Give it time...It's nice to know the tool works...But it's a reality check to know that you have to also! At least that is what it taught me! I got too comfy in my 10 lb safety net.  Now I want to take up the slack and not drift...And unfortunately if you're not paying atttention or ignoring the trouble signs (like there's a giant carb monster that leaves cookies and chips in the pantry) well, that's where the trouble begins. One more carb monster slayed...One more person in control again!  YAY!!!! Big hugs! Anita

Ladies thanks so much for the encouragement.  This week your words have helped me along.  Especially the notes about the coke zero. I have just been diagnosed with bronchitis.  Thankfully my doc knows I'm trying to lose weight and didn't prescribe me with a steroid.  I can't wait to see what the changes I've made continue to bring for me in the coming days and months. Those of you in the middle of the 5 days, keep chugging along.  5 days is nothing when you figure that this helping you to get back on track for the rest of your life.
