Hi again,  I was just reading about Stomaphyx, and I thought I would ask to see if anyone has tried this? Thanks, Rhonda

Hi Rhonda I have had several clients who have tried the Stomaphyx procedure a few years after WLS surgery when they hit a plateau or some weight gain. I am definitely  biased because I have only known the two people who have done it  but both lost an additional 5-10 pounds and were somewhat disappointed by the time I saw them. That said, once they entered into our clinic (medical/behavioral weight loss with education/support, etc.) they continued to lose weight. So, it may have actually helped them in the long run to progress by increasing the sensation of restriction, but certainly was not  a cure all. Just like the surgery it seems to be another tool. Hope that helps. I am interested to hear from others who have found a lot of help/success with it. Good luck!

Check out the revision board, there's lots of info on Stomaphyx there. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/Revision/ My general impression, it doesn't seem successful enough to warrant the cost and there's no insurance coverage. Michele

Hi Rhonda,  I just came across this OH content featuring Cathy Wilson, one of our OH staff members. Reading her story it seems as though she had good results with the Stomaphyx. You may want to contact her. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/wls_grads/cmsID,11846/mode ,content/a,cms/ Lindsey
