I am 3.5 years out of surgery and fairly successful (lost 90 out of 100), but now find myself gaining a few (9 to be exact) back.  I've come back here for some help and find a lot of discussions about slider foods.  This is interesting to me, because it explains how you can learn to trick the surgery. Anyway, I see LOTS of examples of slider foods, but I'm starting to wonder if there is any such thing as a non-slider??  I know solid protein is a non-slider, but what else is? Thanks! Karen

Definitely solid protein, vegies, fruits, etc. would be non-sliders. Yogurt, pudding, ice cream, soups, etc would be slider food to me.

Solid protein is about it for me.

Raw vegetables: carrots, celery, cauliflower and broccoli.  Foods with low moisture content.  Some apples..those which aren't really juicy.  It is much easier to find foods that ARE sliders. Good for you working on getting those 9 pounds off  again. Molly

Non-slider = protein or veggies Slider = anything I can eat more of than I should (or intended to); also, anything I can keep on eating in "grazing" mode without any effort.  So, slider foods are pretty much everything that isn't protein or veggies. That's how it breaks down for me.

Yes.  Chicken is our friend, probably the top non-slider food for many I try to eat some every day.  Reminds me to slow down, too.   Karen
