I have found that almost all protein shakes and supplements are touted as "Great Tasting!", they forget to say that the writer has no taste buds whatsoever.  I have tried a bunch and found Nature's Best brand called Isopure.  You blend it with water or milk in a blender and come out with 50 gms protein, 25 carbs, 0 fat and 300 calories.  Need to add a little Splenda or sugar for a better taste and mix it up with crushed ice.  Let it set a while to separate the foam from the drink, then have at it. Isopure also comes in clear liquid form in many flavors as well as types -- IZC (zero carb), I+C (plus 25 gm carbs), Mass Max (don't quote me) that has 35 gm protein, lots of carbs and I believe its's marketed more toward body builders.  They are available through GNC, although if you go online, they're cheaper.

I would suggest buying some samples and trying 'em out to see what you like.  Like food or wine, peoples tastes are very different.  What some love, others hate. Me, I do not like the Isopures that the other poster recommended. You can buy samples through various websites like vitalady.com and enjoyhealth.com to name a few. Personally, I like Nectar Lemon Tea (mixed with water or decaf iced tea) and IDS Vanilla Cinnamon (mixed with chilled coffee). Kathy

I found that after surgery I didn't care for the protien shakes out there so I got unflavored whey or soy protien powder and mix it myself into different liquids or recipes. I like it mixed in lf milk with 4oz of strawberry light and fit yogurt. Be sure to mix it into the liquid first than mix in yogurt. I also have mixed it in diet hot cocoa, if you mix in to a hot drink, first mix the powder into cold or room temp liquid until mixed than add to the hot beverage so it does not clump.

thank you all so much for the ideas.  i bought a bunch of different flavors already made ones...  they taste like chalk, yuck.............. going to drink them anyway  because they cost me 9.00 a piece.  but after these are gone, i have to try your ideas, cause this stuff  is like drinking that stuff for dye tests. lol.  hated the shakes then, hate them now, at least i know they havent  changed in 4 yrs. lol.  they say nothing worth having is easy to get..... i guess they meant my goal weight.

Try splurging on the Davinchi gormet syrups.  These have been a life saver for me. I Can't stand protien shakes. I'm getting them in, mixing them up, and REALLY trying. More water then reccomended + a shot (or two) of gormet syrup makes these a LOT easier to manage. They're still weird, but easier on the nose and easier on the tastebuds.

Avant Edge has ready made ones that aren't quite as expensive and I don't mind them in the least.  They are low-carb ones so only have 100 calories, 3 grams fat, 3 grams carbs and 15 grams protein.  If you drink them when they are cold, I don't mind them at all... Just another option to try...but like all the posters before me stated...definitely a personal preference! =) Good luck! ~Lisa

Hi, I like Isopure (Dutch Choc) best so far that I've tried.  You can get it at GNC (sale now $41.99) or at Smoothie King I just returned the Cookies n Cream--yuck--way too sweet. If you buy at GNC, returnable within 30 days with receipt-fyi Good luck!

I use the Designer Whey Protein from GNC. I buy the chocolite and mix with: tofu, peanut butter, banana, Silk Soy milk, add some splenda to your tast (I use about 2 spoonfulls**** and blend for about 40 seconds. I also buy the French Vanilla flavor, add tofu, frozen strawberries, Silk Soy milk and splenda (this one takes 2 spoons of splenda for the berries) add ice. Now I have to add a cap full of MiraLax because I just cant seem to stay regular with drinking the protein drinks, but adding the Miralax does the job. Good luck to you!!

I'm lazy so I like Slim-Fast low carb shakes, chocolate.  They have a "high" protein one but it also has a lot of carbs.  The low carb one has 23 gms of protein, I think.  Drink it really cold.
