Oh, wow--I haven't had a cottage cheese pancake for a long time!  That sounds great for tomorrow--with some blueberries & a little sf syrup drizzled on top!     Congrats on your 8# loss as of this morn.!!  Doesn't it feel fantastic?!  I, too, don't know if I'd do the 5dpt in its entirety again, but I think it's been great for me because I had really run my whole program into the ditch!  Like you said, I think I might be more likely to do a partial version of it, maybe starting w/ Day 3 --or possibly Day 1, then a couple more days of "protein only" foods.   Today I loved my fruits & veggies!   Hope the rest of your day went well--your weight loss was great, and I know you feel good about your experience!

Always,
Jo

Added fun?  I could only eat half the cottage cheese pancakes and .75 ounces of another turkey sausage patty!  The cottage cheese pancake breakfast is my once-a-week treat.  I either use some Polaner brand sf ice cream topping or Estee sf maple syrup on them.  In fact, I went to Worldmarket and bought myself a cute tiny little creamer to warm my syrups in the microwave.  (Talk about decadence.)  The rest of the week I normally just have *** e yogurt and kashi go lean breakfast.   Total loss today: 10 pounds.  Shock!!! So glad you were able to regain control of your program.  Very empowering!!! Molly

Well, Jo... You sure did good.  I don't think most of us are truly ever healed from craving the bad choices.  But it certainly makes you appreciate the simple good choices like fruits and veggies.  I still cannot walk safely by a display of pink cupcakes or the bakery section with a nice loaf of Italian bread.  It's always going to be a struggle...I think if you allow a taste now and then...you will not feel deprived. Still, getting creative with healthy foods is just the most satifying thing next to eating a pin****d cupcake! LOL  It's hard though if I'm out or with others. I just work harder the next few days so it doesn't snowball again... Now you KNOW what to do and how it really works first hand and you can see how far off you might have been...I was waaaaaay outta control when I started and I knew it...LOL Now that you know this works to at least satisfy hunger pangs (not so much head hunger) you can try to lose that 15 with some ease.  Thanks for sharing your daily struggles...I enjoyed being a fly on the wall...although I am such a noisy fly!  LOL I was just so excited for you all! :) Big bear hugs! I started the 5dpt today.....so far so good.  Lots of water and one protein shake so far, but its only 10:15 in the morning.  Considering I have been up since 5 a.m. and have already been to the gym, I think it is pretty good.  I don't really care if I lose (although I wouldn't be upset), I just want to feel in control again and cut out the bad carbs an snacks that have been creeping into my diet.  It sounds like you had great success and I am hoping for the same.

Debbie, I hope you hang in there!  Wow, getting up at 5:00 a.m.--and doing the gym-- is an amazing feat in itself!   Just go ahead today and drink all you want--a protein drink "whenever," as well as various other liquids.  I was peeing all day long & was up a couple times in the night (which I never do ordinarily), but I knew my body needed this first step!   I didn't mind Day 1 so bad--it was kind of a "novelty," but I really thought Day 2 sucked.  So just be prepared!   You're doing great w/ your maintenance and are so-o-o smart to be pro-active with it!!  I really, really wish I had nipped this in the bud when I saw a 5-8 lb. gain, but I think I was just in denial.  Honestly, if it weren't for OH, I know I'd be in way worse trouble; this is truly my support group!   Keep checking in this week!

Always,
Jo
