This can't be as good as it gets.

Getting back on track started out great.  Between February 4th and February 16th I lost 15 pounds by doing exactly what the dietician told me to do.  I was thrilled!!    Then between the 17th to today........6 days........nothing.  I might as well be standing on an etched slab of stone.  That scale hasn't moved a bit.  I put in new batteries and balanced it when I started back to this so it's not the scale.  It's me.    On top of that I'm carving crunch so bad it's unreal.  Chips are my vice and I want some real bad right now.  I'm starting to lose hope and that bag of Snyder's Honey Mustard and Onion pretzel pieces is talking to me.  I'm not expecting any real answers.  I just needed to vent.  Thanks for listening.

15 pounds is AWESOME!!!!! Step away from the pretzels...it's a shame but those things are just too good!! I read a post about people baking cheese in the oven and it turns into crisps similar to chips. I'm sure if you post and ask for the recipe someone will give it to you. I haven't tried them myself but they're supposed to be pretty yummy.

Hi Dawn, congrats on the 15 lbs.....remember early in this journey when we stalled or plateaued?  Your body even now needs to catch up with all that you've changed lately.  Give it some time, stay on track and you will see progress. As for chips.....how about this, it's one of my favorites. Place turkey pepperoni on a paper plate, microwave until crisp (I use 30 seconds and then in 15 minute intervals until it's what I want.....be careful you can burn them).  Take out of microwave, pat with a napkin to absorp the fat and enjoy.  They are crispy and a good treat!

OMG Dana! I haven't had the micro'ed pepperoni in ages!!! I used to love it, but I guess I forgot all about it. I wonder what other foods I've forgotten about??? Anyway, it sounds really good right now!!!! Dawn, 15lbs is great and I  was thinking along the same lines as Dana~a plateau. Just keep doing all the good things you've been doing and you'll see that scale move again!!!!!!!!!

Dawn, Gosh, 15 lbs. in about 12 days is really incredible . . . so it's not at all surprising that you haven't lost anything in the past 6 days!  I think  your body just has to adjust after such a huge amount!  But with that said, of course it's frustrating, and I totally understand your wanting to vent!   That's what we're here for!   Now back away from the pretzels (those delicious, evil Snyder's)   If you think you're feeling bad now, think of how you'll feel after you give in to them!! ((Hugs)) Jo

Always,
Jo

Hey you are doing fantastic!! Other than initial HUGE weight loss, where a signifigant amount is water, 10 pounds a month is about all you want to lose. If you lose much more than this it ends up being muscle lost and not fat. You keep your eye on the good eating habits and the weight will take care of itself. I lost 180 pounds in 17 months. It was "gradual" in that most months were not phenominal amounts. I just chugged along like the little engine that could. You can too :) HUGS PK

Here is my method for cheese chips - although I'd never thought of actually doing them as an alternative to real chips for me!!  Duh, grate parmesan cheese very finely.  make a thin layer of cheese onto a baking tray (you can use something to shape this if you like).  Bake for a short time until the cheese melts - make sure you watch it doesn't cook too much.  Leave until cooled and the cheese will become 'crisp'.  Enjoy :o)

Hey Dawn... Everyone had such great ideas!  Love the pepperoni  and baked cheese ideas!  You can use swiss cheese too!  (But works best with hard cheeses like parm, romano and asiago) You can fry cheddar too but it takes a while for the fats and moisture to leave...But oh they are soooo good!   Have you tried soy crisps?  I got some barbeque flavored and dip in plain Greek Yogurt (tastes like sour cream)  YUMMY for a fake chip craving with protein dip!!!!! Oh...and if you add regular onion or veggie dip/soup mix...dip some carrots/veggies or other lowfat crunchies!  And stop after you get that satisfied feeling...(stopping is hard) So I always make a plate and put everything away because I know I'm too lazy to get up and pull it all out again!  LOL Here's another thought...The scale did not move up or down and that is better than moving up...kinda like no news is good news...Plateau most likely!   I'm so proud of you...You totally inspired me when you first got here and your amazing attitude and get up and go go go!  You have taken such huge strides to help yourself....Venting is good Hugs
