Day 1 of pouch test- wanna cheat!!
This is so hard. I want food.. i want to go eat a burger or something.
does this get better, cause its only 1 pm and i have no idea how i will
make it through 5 days of this.. it was easy after surgery, i didnt have
an appetite. lol.
anyone else have trouble on day 1 or did anyone else cheat on day 1 and
somehow make it through the 5 days.
i dont want to cheat just dont know how to stop myself. lol.
April, drink a shake to curb the edge off......or if you feel like chewing grab a s/f popcicle. For me the first 2 days were the easiest, yea I'm crazy.....but as long as I don't start eating then I'm ok, after I put the tinest bite in my mouth I think of food all day.
I think I'll do the 5 day pouch test again next week....I am waiting for the AchievOne protein coffee to come in; I have powder and will do it to but like to have the ready made available for those moments I feel the need to consume something.
I didn't notice where you live but if the weather permits take a walk to clear your head or grab a good book and a cup of coffee, get away and relax. Of course if you are at work this isn't possible right now.
Hang tough, you'll be glad you did.

Well, I don't know if this was cheating or not but, I pureed chili & lental soup.
That helped a lot. It was more of a mind set for me to get back on track just like after surgery.
It worked for me but, I'm sure everyone has their own opinions re. staying strictly with the plan.
It does get better ! Think positive...YOU CAN DO IT !
And once you do you'll be so glad to get back on track...it is SO worth it !

It's not cheating at all! I did the same! I had to have something that wasn't all sweets. I'm not a sweet tooth normally...but I do have my moments! Lentil soup is one of the recipes on the 5DPT web site! And another soup recipe had bacon in it! Split peas and ham was another soup that is good! So no...not cheating as long as it was more like a soup than a stew! LOL ...

Just go to... www.5daypouchtest.com for details for each day.
It basically helps you to get back on track...tests your pouch...even in my case "resets it".
I went back to some bad habits & instead of maintaining...regained some.
It really does help.

Well, basically I thought it was stretched out & not working anymore since I could eat lots of anything I wanted almost all of the time without getting full...felt like it wasn't working anymore. Plus gaining like I have. Since the 5dayer & getting back on track I'm back to the way I was after surgery. I can't eat big portions anymore & can now feel my pouch tighten. Grant it I'm 5 years out & got back into bad habits...wasn't going by "the rules" ever ! Had gotten below my ideal weight of 110 lbs.
