Are you feeling like a failure?
This post was on the main board and members requested it here. There are some great before and after shots, here is the link http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/action,replies/board_ id,4856/cat_id,4456/topic_id,3534991/a,messageboard/
I see posts on a daily basis saying I am getting off track, I have fallen and I can't get back up, gaining, I am a failure....on and on and on.
We all have felt that way from time to time. It's getting back up and how we do so that counts. I for some reason pulled out some old before pics. When I was losing the weight and going through all my PS.
OMG, even now with my 10 pound weight gain I was so shocked
I have come a long way baby
And really had forgotten just how bad I was. Imagine that
As Heidi posted, we must NEVER forget
So if you are pre-op, take pictures even if you hate how you look. Have someone else do it. Take one every month, from the front, sides and back. If you are post op do the same. And if you are at goal GET THOSE PUPPIES OUT AND LOOK AT THEM
I have friends that don't want to remember that part of their lives, but again as my friend Heidi says we can NEVER forget or we will go back to doing all the wrong things.
Take pictures, get them out and look at them! You will not feel like a failure anymore, you will feel like you are finally getting control of your life
Be proud of what you are doing for yourself and your loved one
Take care,
Kathy

Wow I couldn't pick you guys out of a before 'n after lineup. Way to go!!
I totally agree I'm so much better off for having had WLS even though I'm fighting regain. I don't exactly feel like a failure (unless we bring a bathing suit into it and then I need a sedative *stat*).
I feel like I let myself forget that obesity is a disease and that I can just never let my guard down around it.

Hi Kathy,
This is a GREAT post. It might be a good idea to post it frequently just to remind everyone of where we have been and get us to drag pic's of our 'old' selves out and have a shot of reality. You look fantastic and I enjoy your daily posts. Be blessed..
