Cancer, body pain and being forced to eat RIGHT!

Hey everyone,

I haven't been here in a while.  I had surgery on a growth above my right eye two weeks ago.  The patholgoists are saying it was malignant.  So, I'm studying about cancer and body pain from all kinds of diseases today.  From what I've learned, anyone can get rid of any body pain and disease by eating fruits and veggies (and a small amount of protein) and staying away from dairy and breads and starches.  Your body turns carbs into sugars and turns sugars into fungus in your body which turns into cancer cells.  So, I'm finally, after almost seven years, being FORCED to eating right and I have to say it sucks!

I had done so well and not craved diet carbonated drinks for most of these years but recently started drinking them and now I really miss them!  And I drink 'foo foo' coffee every morning (better than Starbucks) and I have to give up all caffeine also.  *sigh*

I have to admit, I'm feeling so much better with so much energy since eating right, but man I miss the sugar so bad!  I didn't realize how much I was eating chocolate too!

And I thought turning 50 this year was the worst thing I would have to face!  Please keep me in your prayers!  They produce miracles every day!

Hugs,

Hey there! I was wondering what happened to you. So sorry about your cancer. Cancer sux...I'm intimate with it's devastation thru my best friends little boy. (He's in remission)...But... You know that this could be a blessing in disguise! 50 is going to be WONDERFUL now that you are forced to eat healthy! Those veggies will keep you looking and feeling young and wonderful!  That's my wishes for you! Medical advancements toward healing have come a long way too! You will get used to eating good and you can learn to cook some great recipes using fruits and veggies that taste better than the stuff you get in the bakery and restaurants!  There are such a wide variety of SF aides to help make healthier dessets and snacks and such too.   For so many reasons...it's a good thing for you to eat healthy! You will begin to look at food much differently once you taste what healthy food does to your mind and your body!  You still need your protein though...You have to remember you are not a regular person...So you'll have to find leaner meats and protein supps if you were told to cut them back!  I'm not a doctor, so I'd be concerned enough to ask one about this before you start eating little protein... Just wanted to say you will be in my prayers, sorry to hear of your cancer. Sometimes things happen to us for unknown reasons only to help us improve other aspects of our lives. Eating a healthy diet is a good thing. Have you used any soy protien products? If you need to boost your protien it is another option for you to try. I use  the unflavored soy protien powder and mix it into 1/2 c skim milk and 4 oz sugar free fruit yogurt. It makes a tasty drink packed with protien and calcium.

ps. being 50 isn't so bad. I am finding out that things can get better as we age and I am turning 56 this summer.

Take care

Sher

Robin, I'm so sorry about your diagnosis!  I'll keepyou in my prayers. Did you ever determine what was causing that strange pain you wrote about a few weeks ago?  Was it related? Don't worry about turning 50!  Like Sher, I'll be 56 in a few months-- it's no big deal!     Michele
