SCARED AND WORRIED
I HAVE BECOME A CONTINUOS GRAZER AND I AM LOSING CONTROL, I AM CONSTANTLY HUNGRY AND I FIND MYSELF GRAZING ALL DAY LONG ON ALL KINDS OF JUNK, I CAN NOT EAT A LOT AT A TIME BUT I CAN EAT ALL DAY LONG. I HAVE STARTED GETTING HEADACHES AGAIN FROM SWEETS AND I STILL CAN NOT CONTROL MYSELF. I AM TOTALLY LOSING IT. I CAN NOT GET MY MIND WHERE IT SHOULD BE, I HAVE GAINED 2 INCHES BACK IN MY BELT SIZE AND I AM FEELING LIKE A TOTAL FAILURE ALL THE TIME. IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT WOULD TAKE THE TIME, JUST SAY A SPECIAL PRAYER THAT I WILL GAIN CONTROL ONCE AGAIN, GOD BLESS YOU ALL , A FRIEND FROM WLS
Bruce - I'm sorry to read that you are struggling. You came to the right place because many here are struggling and trying to get back on track. I noticed you had done the 5 Day Pouch Test before, and it seemed like you were successful. I wonder if that is something one needs to repeat periodically to keep everything in check. I haven't done it yet because I'm getting reach to have a procedure done next week, but I have been saving and bookmarking all the information for future use.
By the way, who did your surgery? I noticed you had yours at New Hanover Hospital in 2002. I had mine done there by Dr. James Harris in May of 2003. He and Dr. Miles are the only two bariatric surgeons I know of in the area. I have since moved up to the Chapel Hill area.

Lap RNY 5/7/03
I lost 50+ pounds of regained weight with hCG drops.
Hi Bruce,
I was doing the same distructive behavior and January 11 I came here and have gotten back in control. I have set rules for myself and I work hard to follow them. The accountability thread is so helpful. I know that I will have to tell my OH friends what I REALLY ate so I think twice before I put something in my mouth. I journal at www.fitday.com and put in what I eat and the excercise that I do. I've lost 11 pounds this way (I gained back 4 pounds due to being sick, but I am going forward again) I will add tou my prayers and I hope to see you here, You are not alone.

I don't have an answer for you ...but I want to wish you good luck. I know i've read that michelle (vitalady) has said that she drinks like 6 protein shakes a day to keep her appetite in check. I know personally that I will sometimes graze instead of eat a meal. As a man (even women can do this) it's better for us to eat 5 to 6 smaller meals then 3 large meals with snacks. I think there are several "diets" on the market that have you eating about every 2 or 3 hours. ...perhaps this would help you?
I know for me, the more sugar I eat the more I want....when I was trying to lose weight, I'd go on a sugar cleanse...basically 3 days without carbs. It really does a lot to eliminate the carb cravings.

hi there
so sorry u are struggling. its awful to feel out of control.
maybe you just need to go back to basics for awhile, and start by cleaning out those closets at home. get rid of the stuff that triggers you.
think about what you did in the beginning when you were first losing the weight. make a plan for yourself. be sure you are getting in your protein and your fluids.
i know u can do it!!! be positive.
someone posted on the main board the other day about keeping a positive mental attitude
i posted a sticker on my puter saying "P M A" cause we all need help some days.
good luck, stay in touch with us all

I am in the same boat as you are.....my RNY was May 2002. I lost all of my weight and now I am back up to 165! I don't eat a lot at one time either (ok, so my pouch still works) but I EAT ALL DAY LONG! I know I am killing myself slowly and I am a slave to food once again......I started the 5 day pouch test yesterday, which is designed to reset your pouch and break the cycle of craving/overeating carbs and refined sugars etc. MAybe you could try that? Go to 5daypouchtest.com and it will tell you all about it!!!
I will say a prayer for you too! God will help you if you just ask Him!!!

I can totally relate, Bruce!
What I have learned is that we CAN get control back. You don't need to feel like a failure because you CAN do what needs to be done. Stop, breathe, and turn it around right now.
Buy baby carrots and have some when you feel like grazing on junk... it's worked wonders for me...
Buy protein bars and take a bite or two when you feel like having a SNICKERS bar...
Get some protein drinks to fill you up...
KEEP TRACK OF YOUR CALORIES - You cannot manage what you cannot measure!
And more importantly... remember how brave you were to have this surgery... and be proud of yourself... and be proud of knowing that you WILL do what needs to be done to make it all work for you...
You CAN do it! No doubt!
