A more normal day I think today but I went out to eat for brunch and it sure was hard to keep track of all I ate. All you can eat buffets are murder for tracking but I'll try. Breakfast: Kashi Hot Cereal and SF Maple Oatmeal, soy milk and wheat germ.  Brunch: 3 oz of Beef (Chili Colorado), 1/2 a cheese enchilada, a third of a beef tamale and one chicken thigh. Then alittle later I had 8 grapes, a half a canned pear and a little bit of watermelon.  No snacks again. Too stuffed. I drank a lot of water though.  Dinner: Buffalo Steak Burger, 1 salad with Rasp Pomegranet Dressing and a wine cooler Dessert: more water to make up for the wine cooler.  Totals: Calories: 1695  Fat: 61  Carbs: 154  Protein: 126

I think the buffalo is alot leaner and more protein. I did a short check on fitday and compared what they have for turkey and what I have from the 5 oz buffalo burger patties.  5 oz of buffalo burger has 43 grams of protein 5 oz of turkey burger has 37 grams  Actually, if we can't absorb more than 30, it doesn't matter too much which is higher there.  5 oz of turkey burger has 18.26 grams of fat 5 oz of buffalo burger has 12 grams of fat.  Guess I'm just a cowgirl at heart. It doesn't really matter to me about the fat so much but darn it tastes SO GOOD. Kind of like the beef we used to get in Montana. My uncle explained it about California beef. He said that because the market is so heavy for beef in the states (California especially) they don't let the steers get past 10 months. Those are beefettes (according to him). Most of the good beef taste is put on from 10 months to 24 months but not so much more weight. It's all profit going away from 10 months on because they sell the beef by the pound and most people can't tell the difference (or don't want to pay for good quality beef). Buffalo tastes like good quality beef to me.

Yesterday was my 7th wedding anniversary so we dropped the kids off at the in-laws (first time I have left my 8 month old) and drove to the NH seacoast for the day.  Being out all day was hard to keep on track for me this time since I did not plan ahead and pack snacks - I ended up snacking from the kids' backpack in the car.  Carbs were wicked high. B - granola bar L - 1 c steamed clams, 1 lb steamed lobster with about 1 tbsp butter S - few bites cheese pizza D - Smart Ones - Fettucini Alfredo  (hubby made this for me - I would not have chosen one with no meat and so many carbsbut he was being so nice I didn't want to complain) S - rice krispies treat bar, 2 slices deli roast beef Walked the freezing cold beach for about an hour - froze our butts off!!!  LOL 1365  cals,    38 fat,    160 carbs (WOW),   90 protein
