Hello all.  Are you ready for the weekend.  I am going to the fitness expo tomorrow in LA and to the MMA fight that night.  should be interesting.  Will be cool to see all the latest fitness stuff out.   I have been struggling a bit for the last couple of days wanting to eat more.  I have looked at my meals and noticed I have no real dense proteins going on so its going through to fast.  Tomorrow I am gonna try and get some solid proteins in and see how I feel after that.   Here was my day.
breakfast:

Good morning.  I guess I did ok yesterday calories and fat seem high even though I felt like I didn't eat much - wanted to eat lots more "junk" but forced mysefl to stop.  The leftover Chinese food is gone and I won't be getting more - too high. B -  .5 oz roasted almonds, protein drink L - 1 piece beef teriyaki, 2 chicken fingers S - 1 meatless egg roll w duck sauce D - 1 c Wendy's chili totals - 1161 cals,   55 fat,   72 carbs,   90 protein

Yes wasnt a lot of food but there was some serious cals and fat in it and not a lot of protein.    Chinese food can really have a lot of hidden stuff in it.. like sodium, fat and sugar.   Still not a bad day over all.  Keep on sailing girl Carla

We went into town yesterday to shop for the barbeque we're having on Sunday and I was inspired..I found a poster for an MS walk in April.MS is near and dear to my heart cuz my mom died of it (and pneumonia complications) in 1974. Now that I'm healthy (and can't apparently sit still) I can DO something like that.

Breakfast: Oat Bran Hot Cereal, Wheat Germ, Soy Milk.

Second Breakfast: 3 eggs, about a cup of cottage cheese and a slice of really good whole wheat bread (Yup, looks like I'm pushing the envelope)

Lunch: If it was actually lunch: 1 cheese stick and 1 Protein bar (Balance Essential)

Snacks: K20 protein drink and SoBe Living protein drink. I think I like the SoBe one better and it's cheaper.

Dinner: Pork chop (4 oz) Red Potato (1/2 a small one) and 1 large carrot. Found an Irish cookbook. Good stuff.

Dessert: Home Baked Protein bar

Totals:

Calories: 1560,  Fat: 57.  Carbs: 138.  Protein: 135 I might have even eaten more, I had a hard time remembering what I ate cuz I didn't write it down. It's hard in the afternoons cuz I eat breakfast so early and lunch so early that the afternoons are long and hungry before dinner..I don't want to graze all day. LOL

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

That sounds like a great Idea.  My mother and aunt both died of MS so I hear you on that one.  YOu had a nice day I think.  YOu actually dont look like you ate all that much.. except that breakfast (lol) The rest of the day was more nibbles than real food.  Got the protein up ther eand the rest is right one so great day over all See ya tomorrow Carla

Not a bad day, but I shoulda passed on the pizza!  Someone posted some chinese yesterday I think and there was a concern about ingredients and preparation...I've found that the better quality places can do just about anything you ask.  Here lately, I ask for no starch in my sauce and as little oil as possible...and I'm staying away from the black bean and garlic sauces right now (they're my faves) because they are most always prepared with sugar. a very low day I think.  doing good on the choices.  May need to eat a bit more so you dont go into starvation mode.  loving the water.  keep it up girl Carla

Hi Carla :) I think I will start posting over here so I dont freak out the newbies with my high cal diet. I am currently 147 pounds which is quite under my goal weight, considering I have more than 10 pounds to lose in skin removal this year. I am currently working on maintaining my weight in the 150 neighbourhood. My daily plan is 1500 - 2000 calories, 25+ grams dietary fiber and I want to start pushing my protien to 120 grams per day in preperation for surgery since it will be spur of the moment when it does happen I may be eating this way for 10 or so months. I do have a hard time exceeding 1500 calories everyday so I do need to be "accountable" to my nutritional needs and avoid the whole losing even more weight thing. Breakfast: yogurt (70 cals, 8 protein) ham pita (200 cals, 20 protein) cashews (250 cals, 8 protein) Snacks: 2 cups milk in lattes (180 cals, 18 protein) Lunch: salad (200 cals, 8 protein) bar (140 cals, 10 protein) Dinner: taco bites (340 cals, 11 protein) apple (100 cals, 1 protein) Totals: 1480 cals, 16 fiber, 84 protein I didnt make any of my goals yesterday but I just got home from vacation and am whiped Have a great night! Welcome aboard.  We have many here trying to work on maintaining and upping their calories.  Looks like a good day.  little low on protein for you goal as well.  Keep playing with those numbers til you find what is working.. Carla
