If  you  do  not  have a copy  of  the current  OH  magazine  I  would  encourage  you to  get  one ..   I  would  want  to  encourage  you to  get  back  to  basics   monitor  your  helping  sizes  Choose  your protien and make  sure  your  getting  80  grams  or  what  ever  your  Dr  suggested  Take  your  vitamins  and  have  your  labs  done !!   Give   up  the  unhealthy  carbs  Exercise and  Water  Keep  a  journal  and  be  honest  with  your  self ... You  eat it  make  sure  you  record  it ...  You  can use  your  tool  its  a  life  time  tool  if  you  use  it  ..   Make  sure  you  have  a  strong  support  system!! You  can  do  it !!  This  is  a  life  style  not  a  diet ...

If you browse through the different threads on this board, you'll notice a certain trend... there are MANY of us in that same boat, so rest assured... MANY of us had had this happen! I like Kookie's answer  (and the avatar too! :o) IMHO, the solution can be summarized in three words for most of us:   Take Back Control! Good luck to ya!  You can do it!  Angie

At  a support  group  meeting this  week  Ramon  shared a  a  awesome  view  that  has  come  in  handy  ..  We  need  to  see   FOOD  as  Fuel  like  gas  for our  cars  ..  There is  so  much   truth  in  that  yet  so  simple ...  It  sure  has   helped  em  alot  this  week  on  staying  in  tune  to  my  body messages  ...   I  try my  best  to  eat  my  3  small  meals and 2   snacks  each  day ....  I   focus on  Protien  first  when  consuming  my   food  ...  I  have  success when  I   take  time  to  plan  and  weight  and  measure  ....  Its one  day  at  a  time  for a  healthy  life  style .. It  takes  alot of  work  even  at  goal  life  is  not  much  different after  surgery than at   goal it is  just  a  little   more  food  ....

This is a common thing that happens around 3yrs out so yes, this has happened to many of us. There are lots of threads down below that tackle this very topic so check them out. The best thing you can do is refocus and get back to basics~push protein first, cut out the bad carbs, stop any grazing, up your water intake and follow the 30/30rule, get in plenty of exercise~all of these things will work to take those 17lbs back off. Just know that you're not alone! You CAN gain control of this! Good Luck to You!!!!!!!!!!!!
