Accountability... what did you eat Tuesday

I had to call Starbuck's for the nutritional info on the Venti breve caffe mocha, as they don't list the breve drinks on their website.  I think their reasoning is that if you're getting your drink made with steamed half-and-half, you really don't care about your nutrition anyway   Little do they know... Starbuck's Venti Breve Caffe Mocha (per 20 oz) 770 calories 59 g fat (531 calories from fat) 25 g carbs 16 g protein I did a comparison with the Whole Milk mocha and found that it doesn't pay for me, as a person who malabsorbs 80% of the fat that I ingest, to do anything but a breve.  The carbs are more than double in a whole milk mocha, the protein only 1 g. higher, and there are more absorbable calories for me. However, drinking 3 VBCMs in one day...  that's where the bulk of my calories came from.

Believe me, if I hadn't had myself switched up the way I did, I wouldn't go near one of those suckers for all the espresso in Italy.  I call it the Myocardial Infarction Special .  They're tasty, to be sure, but they're not for everyone.  You should've seen my husband's face when I told him that nutritional information... priceless...

OMG those numbers for that drink are crazy.  oh my.  wow.. good thing I dont drink coffee.. I think thats what it is.. Look at how well you did today.  way under that 2000 mark today.  At the end of this absorption thing would you want to have that many fat calories.. that you absorb that is.  what is that gram wise If you know.  Your protein number is great.  Just wondering about the bottom line on the fat and carb numbers.. Still looks like a great day.. I think your drink is the bulk of that fat you get.. 79 wow.. lol.. good thing your tummy likes that.   See ya tomorrow. Carla

At the end of the day, I got 60 grams of fat.  I know it's a lot - my surgeon wants to see my cholesterol come up above 100 though, so he said eat more fat.  I'm a good little patient, so I do. There may be some malabsorption on some of the carbs, but honestly, until I see a study on it, I'm counting them all.  I don't have to worry about carbs unless I start gaining - right now, that's not a problem. (Thank God!)  My labs are good - except I was a little low on potassium - got that covered now, though.  I get my cholesterol tested in about 3 weeks, so I'll know what that looks like.  I don't sweat the calories as much as I do the nutritional value - my labs are my most important measuring tool, not my scale.  Although, that scale is being very rewarding right now

What weather we had here today. Started snowing last night, got several inches, then it changed to rain. It rained and rained and rained. Now the snow is gone. The water was pouring down my basement stairs, luckily we have two drains in the floor but I needed to unclog them as leaves were coming along with the water. Sure was glad when it finally stopped.
