Hey Everyone

I hope your weekend was a blast  We almost froze to death.  Actual temps were below zero and we won't talk about the wind chill....  Come on spring...get here

Went to my boxing class Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.  Also did some weight training.

For those of you that think boxing is just hitting the bag, let me share with you an one hour class.  I personally don't like hitting people and or getting hit  But did you know boxing and kick boxing burns the most cals an hour than "ANYTHING" else?  Around 800 cals.  Why you ask?  You have to be in the best of shape endurance wise to stand in the ring and box as long as they do.  Well check this out:

Pre class warm up - 2 rounds of suicide runs
Jump rope
20 pushups
2 rounds of weaving in and out between the bags
20 push ups
20 burbies
Jump rope
Arm circles
20 pushups

By now we are pooped and have not hit the bag
Then we do a series of 2 min workouts
Jab punches
Jabs and cros*****hes
20 sit ups
20 bicycles
Jab, cross, hook punches
Upper cut punches
20 sit ups
Jump rope
Combination of all punches

20 push ups
leg lifts
leg lifts cross over
crunches
bicyles
side crunches
burbies

Then the ambulance carries us out

Not bad for a couch slob 4 years ago!

So my friends, Did You Move To Lose and or Maintain Today?  Come on in and let's get this party started  If you are pre-op, let us know if you are walking to help with that pre-op diet.  Are you using the step counter?  If you are a newbie, tell us how we can help to get you going?  If you have put on a few pounds and want to "get back on track", let's go.  Let me help you get back to the basics?  And if you are kicking butt, then share with us what works for you

Take care,
Kathy

I had a garage sale on Sat. Got up about 4AM and didn't stop until 3PM. So that was a pretty good workout. Sunday morning I went for a four mile walk with my dog along the intercoastal causeway. I went slowly for the first two miles allowing my dog to get her sniffing in, but on the two miles back I put her on a short lease and we power walked. It was beautiful! Sorry to tell you but the temperature here was in the low 70s. It was sunny with a nice sea breeze. I love it here this time of year. Check back with me in August and I'll probably have a different opinion then. Sunday afternoon I spent raking leaves and keeping up with my 5 year old and 6 month old granddaughters (I babysit while my daughter works). After work today I think I'll take Molly out for another long walk. Janice

Oh I LOVE Florida.  Would move there in a heart beat if I could.  Are you on the Gulf side or Atlantic side? i am partial to the Gulf side myself. What a wonderful workout.   Such a pretty picture and peaceful too. My doggie Rocky would love it. Take care, Kathy

I'm on the Gulf side. Dunedin is just north of Clearwater (close to Tampa and St. Petersburg) I love it here and plan to stay as long as I can afford to.  I'm partial to the Gulf too. I grew up in Alabama. We'd go to the Redneck Rivera (Gulf Coast of Alabama) for vacations. Janice

Hi Tracy! Yes Palm Harbor is just next door to me. I love Dunedin. After I decided I could no longer stand to live in Atlanta I ask myself where would I love to live. I decided on the west coast of Florida then sent a resume to every company I could find in the area. Once I was hired for my current job my company flew me here for 1 weekend to find a place to live. Once I found Dunedin, I knew I was home. I've been here almost 7 years now. I just love it. Janice

Hi Kathy, et all, I went to the gym yesterday and did 30 mins on the treadmill, a new one at that!  Yeah the heart monitors work on em too and then 15 on the upright bike. (getting the butt ready for the real riding season) After my Dr.s appointment last week he told me that 5x a week cardio for 45 a day should be plenty and to boost up the intensity so I did.   Did some roman chair, the other chair where you bend and the waist going down for the lower back and some ab work. NO ARMS TILL AT LEAST WEDNESDAY per the DR. Kathy, you are an animal!!!!!! And until I get there, I WANT TO BE IN ONEDERLAND BY MARCH 1ST. Keep moving, Tmac
