It's working!!

It was a week ago today that I got back on track.  Been doing what the dietician told me and it's working.  I've lost 8 pounds since last Monday.    I'm so excited.  I was afraid it wouldn't work.......or would be very slow.  So glad it's working.  Just wanted to update those that have been supportive and asked that I give updates.  Thanks.

Congratulations Dawn........these results should help keep the movitation and excitement going.  Now on a side note, you will probably see stalls just like you did as a newbie, don't let the scale defeat you, it's progress not perfection, one day at a time.

AWE ! GOOD FOR YOU ! That is so great ! O.K....so what were you told ? What is your new plan ?  I'm scheduled to go back to the nutritionist in a couple weeks since my "supposedly" new friend...the scale is not budging...& I've gained too much back. I'm really trying on my own but need some X-tra help as well. So glad for you sweetie ! Keep up the good work.

I had to go back to measuring my food in the one ounce medicine cups again.   No more caffene.   Journaling everything I eat and drink. No drinking with my meals or for 30 minutes afterward. Started back with all my vitamins and supplements. Exercise.....30 minutes a day for at least 3 days a week.  Will get up to 5 days a week. Drink 80 ounces of fluids a day. She has me on a diet of 3 meals and 2 to 3 snacks a day. The meals are 8 ounces......4 ounces of protein with each.  4 ounces of fruit, veggies and starch......one with each meal. The snacks are 2 to 3 ounces.  Fruits or veggies. I can't eat 8 ounces at one sitting so they had me break up my meals and eat 4 ounces at a time.  My new vitamin regimen: B1 once a week B12 once a week Biotin daily 3 Centrum A to Zinc daily 7 Citracal Petites daily I'm also doing a protein supplement in the morning.  16 ounces of 1% milk, 2 envelopes of Carnation Instant Breakfast No Sugar Added and one scoop of unflavored Unjury. I haven't started the exercise part yet.  Have to get a new seat for my exercise bike.  The one that came with it is tiny and hard.  Don't get much of a workout when  you can only stand to sit on it for ten minutes at a time.  Will have a new seat soon and then I'll be doing that too.

Well thank you for the overview. I know that I am going to have to go back to measuring portions as well. Oh my goodness tho...the good o' medicine cups ! Brings back memories ! I had forgotton all about those babies. Good luck with that new seat ! I know the one's at the Y can be a bummer on the booty too ! Ya hafta be comfortable. Take care & keep in touch

Hey Dawn... I'm so happy for you!  You really took that bull by the horns!  Good for you... I got myself a doctors appointment too...I am really curious about my blood work.  My appointment is not til the end of the month!  But...at least I got one because I am a terrible doctors patient.   I've been weighing my food as well and I am shocked how little I actually eat...I thought I was eating so much more...WOW on the vitamins!  UGH!  I hope I am not defincient in anything.  How are your labs?  Good?  Any trouble? I'm like you, I have to spread my meals out to 6 meals, but smaller than 8oz per meal... I'm so glad you have found the motivation to get to this point and are being 100% proactive. It's an inspiration to those who feel they can't seem to do anything to help themselves and you are proving them wrong. They can do it. I can do things I was being lazy about because of a stories like yours!  What you have to say matters...there is someone out there that doesn't have the courage to ask...So thanks for this update! WooHoo! Way To Go Dawn!!!! Heck, if that isn't motivation I don't know what is!!!!! It is such a good feeling to realize that the tool still works!!!!! Congratulations to You!!!!!!!!!
